Bloody November
TCU, Baylor, OU and Okie St. all play each other this month.
something like a combined record of 31-1?
I really like the way OU is playing along with their D...Oklahoma St. and TCU both have woes at D but can play O like noones business. Can TCU's Boykin and Doctson carry DEM FROGZ on their shoulders? Will their D hold up? Will ANYONE'S D hold up this month?
OU gets lucky...we get a freshman QB with Baylor in a couple weeks and TCU at home...then Okie Light up at stillwater.
As an OU fan this month has a chance to be like October of '00 .... if OU wins out they'll be Big XII champs and SHOULD make it in the playoff...
should be an exciting month of football.

Hopefully they all go 0-3 against each other.

Re: Bloody November
Not so sure why you are high on the OU defense. They have looked mediocre to me. Especially when you consider that they got worked up front by a Texas offense that has been shut out twice. Texas was completely one dimensional that day and OU still couldn't stop them. Both BU and TCU can run and pass. I think your offense will be fine but will need to score each time it has the ball against them.Moby Dick wrote: I really like the way OU is playing along with their D...Oklahoma St. and TCU both have woes at D but can play O like noones business. I don't know how much of those games I'll be watching. The average scoring drives will probably be around 47 seconds, which will pretty much make for a 5 hour long commercial fest with a little football sprinkled in.

There were 123 points scored in that game. In their two basketball games last season, there were 106 points and 125 points scored respectively.

This epic game went punt, punt, punt, punt, INT, punt, punt, missed FG, end of half at one point. 3 of the drives were 3 and out, another was 5 plays. The longest was 8 for 36 yards.
No offense sucks. Boring as hell.

I guess the same could be said about Baseball , Sam!
all them homeruns just make the game boring
Too many TDs make it boring?!? that makes the game even MORE exciting, especially when theres a Defensive stand or 2...
sounds like the SEC has TD envy......

No more so than dive play on first down for 2, sweep on 2nd for 3, and a trap play or 3rd for another two followed by a punt. Rinse repeat.Sudden Sam wrote: Watching two teams take every possession to the endzone is ridiculous.

Four unbeaten teams in the top 25 (three in the top 10) went down yesterday. Bloody November indeed.

I am glad you saw the humor because it was exactly what you said was boring football.
That UF Vandy game was awful. Turnovers and penalties.

Didn't Arkansas play a home game against a Big 12 bottom feeder this season? How'd that turn out for the team that doesn't play defense?Sudden Sam wrote:And you think I didn't find humor in that myself?
Thus the proximity of the Florida-Vandy score and the Arkansas-Ole Miss notes.
The difference in the SEC and the Big 12 is that the Big 12 teams score on each set of downs whereas SEC teams have to sustain a drive encompassing a couple of first downs in order to cover 80 yards.
I see a lot of dropped passes in the SEC, not a lot of great defense.

Re: Bloody November
Yes Bama played outstanding defense, but they should have.
LSU only threw the ball 19 times despite being down from the 2nd quarter on. They only completed 6. Bama was able to put 8 in the box with the safety playing run the whole time. If you can't play outstanding defense when you know a run is coming you have no business on the field.
LSU raked up offensive numbers against horrible run defenses up to that point and were not as good as many thought.
FYI that RB at FSU is far better than #7 at LSU.

Re: Bloody November
Pac-12 pretty much eliminated themselves last night.
Notre Dame has a date with Stanford coming but that lost some juice. Notre Dame has to be rooting for a Big XII cluster fuck. It's almost there if Okie State goes down to Baylor or Oklahoma.
Oklahoma is in an interesting spot. If they run the table but they've got one of the worst losses of the 1-loss contenders. I think it's going to come down to picking Notre Dame (if they win out) and a potential 1-loss Big XII champ. Notre Dame's 1-loss is at Clemson. Hard to pick the Sooners over the Irish.
SEC champ is going to be in...looks to me that it will be Alabama. The Tide are just only getting better.
The B1G champ will probably be a 1-loss or an unbeaten. If Ohio State survives the closing gauntlet of MSU, Michigan and Iowa...they're in and a legit contender.
Clemson is sitting pretty but the Carolina game for the ACC title could be tricky.
