Re: Sparty.
I know just how much it hurts.
No. 15 Richmond 73, No. 2 Syracuse 69
Cuse was coming off a Big East Championship and a 26-6 regular season record. Cuse fans were expecting a lot from this team. What they got was the 1st 15 over a 2 upset in tournament history.

I didn't do a bracket either for the first time. It's liberating.Papa Willie wrote:This is the first year I haven't done a bracket in probably 25 years. Looks like I picked a great year to do that, too!
Holy shit. Poor Mgo. Man - this one has to sting...
Re: Sparty.
Even though my team lost and I don't care about YOUR brackets...this tournament still kicks ass. Michigan was on borrowed time when Lavert was shut down.
Seeing Sparty lose was awesome...not going to lie. More amazing is seeing Middle Tennessee beating them wire-to-wire. You waited for that moment when State would take control and it never happened.

Good God. Sparty embarrasses the Big 10 in football and basketball.

Re: Sparty.
I didn't fill out a bracket.
I haven't commented on the Toruney at all, since I'm capable of singlehandedly jinxing a team.
But everyone hates Duke, so there's that.

Re: Sparty.
Considering that was probably the worst loss in MSU basketball history, and one of the biggest upsets in tourney history... I took it pretty well. When you've been to the tournament for like 20 consecutive years, these things are going to happen now and again. Just ask Duke. I would've been pissed if MSU played like shit and got out-hustled, but they actually played relatively well. MTSU simply played out of their god damn minds. Nailing fade away 3s with a hand in the face, etc., kind of performance.Papa Willie wrote:And that might shut the door. 39 seconds left and down by 7.
Somebody needs to find Mgo and feed him liquor.
I hope a non-blue blood cuts down the nets this year, like a Virginia or Oregon. It would give me some hope that the one-and-done model isn't the only way to win a title.

As much as it pains me to admit, the fucking Jayhawks are head and shoulders the best team so it won't surprise me a bit for them to employ the scissors.MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:I hope a non-blue blood cuts down the nets this year
I hope that I just jinxed them. Jaypuke fans are insufferable in these parts.

They've really come together over the last few weeks.

...apparently not.War Wagon wrote:...the fucking Jayhawks are head and shoulders the best team...
There wasn't a dominant team this year in cbb, but 5 or 6 pretty good ones capable of winning it all. The beauty (and tragedy) of the tourney is it's not really about the "best team," it's about the team that can get hot at the perfect time, and get a little bit lucky too.
Or you can just hoard all the 5 star recruits. That tends to work pretty well.

Re: Sparty.
Mission accomplished. Now I won't to listen to them for the next week other than the few who will still be crying like somebody stole their lolly pop, I work with many of them. I'll try not to pour excessive amounts of salt in the fresh wound, but salt will be poured. They are used to it by now and know how to take their medicine.War Wagon wrote:I hope that I just jinxed them. Jaypuke fans are insufferable in these parts.
KU just got out hustled and outplayed and as in glorious seasons past, they choked. This one had to hurt more than most. Hey, baseball season starts in one week!
