Good article on the console gaming environment of today. Talks about what gamers are digruntled about and what things need to be changed. Anyone who has played since the original SNES will appreciate it.

The dude has a point about AI in games. I wish that they actually tried to organise some sort of diversion to draw your fire while flanking you. Instead of just running straight into you and getting the fucking beat down. Game developers need to start catering to the die hard gamers out there that compose the vast majority of game buyers. He also makes a great point about Madden and the dumb ass comments he makes throughout the game.

bwaaaahahahaha!!!Instant-Failure Stealth Levels. Ack. This brings back horrible memories of a Goldeneye level where if you tripped an alarm, an infinite number of bad guys poured forth. We knew a man who failed that level 37 times, then got the Infinite Health cheat for it and came back. He intentionally tripped the alarm, the guards rushed out. Laughing maniacally, he proceeded to shoot those fuckers for four hours, killing 1,183 of them - 682 with groin shots - before his thumbs cramped up. Your game should not create this kind of bitterness.

There wasn't much you can argue with in that tirade.
