Herbert Warren Wind dies at 88
I just bought "Five Lessons: The Modern Fundamentals of Golf" and, aside from the wisdom imparted by Hogan, I am absolutely awestruck with the grace and elegance of Wind's prose. His use of the language of golf is reminiscent of Bobby Jones' spoken words in his newsreel series "How I play Golf", only even more stunning in its detail. I miss him and I hardly knew him.
Oh, and he coined that Amen Corner nickname for the 11th, 12th and 13th at Augusta National.
