First of all, I'm just wondering how all of you that were so staunchly anti-immigrant, or anti-amnesty, or anti-asylum or whatever can justify suddenly being all in favor of letting them in all at once. Seems like a 180 degree flip just because your Dear Leader now says that's what he wants.

Second, how do you think this will be accomplished? Do you have any sense of the logistics or cost of transporting thousands of people, all at once, to New York, San Francisco, Seattle, New Orleans, Portland, Denver, Boston, Burlington, etc., etc.? Who's going to pay for it? You going to take it out of the Great Wall funding? I guess you could, since you wouldn't need the wall any more, right? Who is going to accompany all these people on the bus ride (assuming it's being done on buses and not first class air). You going to reassign CBP, ICE, or some other already understaffed agency? You think they're just going to dump them all off in front of City Hall? That would make some great optics for your Hero. Well, I guess it would for the rabid dumbfuck base, but probably not for most of the rest of us.

Third, what do you think is going to happen once they're dumped off in all the Sanctuary Cities and States? Tent camps in Central Park? You think they're just going to stay where you put them? :doh: Seriously, Joe, try thinking this through. It might actually be a good thing in California. It's not so far from San Francisco and LA to the Central and Salinas Valleys. Farmers are already short handed because of Trump's idiotic immigration policies.

I am aware that the transportation alone of these illegals is cost prohibitive, but the sentiment behind the idea appeals to me. The obvious solution is also the cheapest and most humane— and that is to not let them in. Making the cost of illegal entry into the United States such that it is better to get in line and apply for citizenship or a green card than to pay the price is both smarter and more effective. And what is that solution? Having any possibility of you and your family getting citizenship or a green card taken away forever removes the incentive to sneak in. Then shut down the asylum program until such time as when the abuse of it ends.

However, both the Chamber of Commerce Republicans and Democrats in general want unchecked illegal immigration, so such a solution is impossible.

As for why Trump would suggest such a thing is not difficult to understand when illegal immigrant drunk drivers flood the roads the night of payday, illegal immigrants gun down citizens like Kate Steinle, and rapists are caught and discovered to have been deported multiple times. Couple that with the Left’s “thumb in the eye of the people they disagree with” by refusing to turn in illegal aliens in to the police or ICE, and you get the gleeful response like sending illegals to cities to catastrophically destroy the safety net they extend to non-citizens while letting actual Americans languish in tent cities, ala San Francisco.

This is how Trump wins political points. He speaks the same language and throws out ideas that are discussed among ordinary Americans. The ideas are likely unworkable for any number of reasons, mostly due to the courts and political opposition, but the very fact he gives voice to these ideas that plenty of people think wins him converts and quite possibly the election in 2020. News flash here....the agricultural industry all over this country is doing what it can to adapt to DECREASING numbers of available workers legal or not. Just because an area is rural or agricultural does not mean it is capable of absorbing large numbers of workers, ag or not. There are workers needed, but by no means the numbers you are assuming would be employed.

There are more construction workers, food service and service workers than ag workers. Tell me you knew.

The agricultural operations around my area, a very heavy agricultural area are begging for workers. Starting at $ 15.00 to $ 20 per hour. A friend left 50% of his blueberry crop in the field this last year because he could not harvest it.
