Astrophysicist Zweerink engages in a one hour debate about the shape of the earth and he produces almost NO scientific evidence of his globe.
Virtually nothing.

Zweerink, a professed Christian, twice chose to go off on a tangent and ask why God would deceive us about the shape of the earth.
Wat?

Open your book, dude.
The first chapter of Genesis has God informing you that your globe cannot be correct.

It says that there are waters above the sun, moon, and stars (and they are there to this very day - Psalm 148).


Sargent definitely got the better of the "science" man, imo.

...because no way in hell would people 2000 years ago understand prosaic flourish and metaphor...

Genesis 1 is a straightforward account of the six days of creation.

There is absolutely no reason why anyone would read it and take it as having been written metaphorically.

What would Genesis 1 look like if God really wanted to let us know that He created everything in six literal days?


The days in Genesis 1 are 24 hour days.
There is no reason at all to think otherwise.

When God gave Moses the Ten Commandments, He referenced the six days of creation in giving Commandment Four.

[8] Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
[9] Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
[10] But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
[11] For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Benjamin produced some good, fresh questions and was able to approach things in a very reasonable way.









Gotta give big props to Mr. Benjamin here.

He was able to intelligently and objectively discuss the topic, even though he says he doesn't really buy (yet) that the earth is flat.
He does recognize that the globe (and NASA) has problems.

Benjamin clearly understands that this is not a topic that a thinking person simply waves off.
