I don't really get the purpose of this fight or why socal is fighting 200 years of common definitions.

1) Most of the history of this country happened before most of the new 'midwest' states became states.

2) Just because we expanded west doesn't mean we have to change the name of everything we had in the past.

3) Should we call the northeast old new england because its been 200 years?

4) The population of this country is still very much concentrated in the northeast, if you were to focus on importance or population, Michigan is still the midwest as it is just west of the major population centers. Then there is nothing hundreds of miles....then California.

5) USC's education is proving itself to be quite strong once again.

I think it’s optimistic to consider Missouri and Illinois as part of the Midwest. It will be perfectly logical when everything west of Denver slides into the Pacific.

So am I expected to just accept that the golden keys that went to heaven after the second deciphering and were never seen by anyone but Joseph Smith himself were accurate in saying that the lost tribe of Israel were Native Americans who had a completely different group of gods than the Israelites? because of the interpritation of one group of idiots, truth and reason dont really matter?

The truth is that Ohio, Illinois and Michigan are no where near the Mid West part of this country and to say they are, is to give up on reason and truth and just go by what you have been told like mindless sheep.

the North East is still in the North East part of the country, the North West is in the North West part of the country, but the Mid West is somehow also in the North East because of some 200 year old perceptions. maybe we should bring back other 200 year old labels and customs like forced negro farm workers, marrying off your 12 year old daughters and burning witches.
