It works a lot better when you're not playing from behind and turning the ball over.

Stanford has had several games where they had a slow first half, scoring-wise, but the power running game had its effects show up after halftime and they'd put up two or three TDs in the third quarter. In those games, though, they weren't playing catch-up in the second half.

Stanford is still better than Oregon, though, because they had more yards from scrimmage, more first downs and more time of possession.

But the real question is.....are they better than Cal?

No question that Cal's better. They held Oregon to 43 points this year and beat Stanford in 2009.

The one thing you left out ... is how Cal has beaten Stanfurd 8 of the last 10 games.

And Stanford won 14 of the previous 17, not including the tie in 1988. How far do you want to go with this?

Fuck off. I grew up in Palo Alto. Local history is Stanford history. The two Jr. High Schools I went to were both named after early Presidents of the University. Both parents and my sister are alumni. Prolly 50% of my high school class had parents who worked there.
