You should see the reaction to people around here when you inform them - "No - they're not from here". They pretty much only lived here from '69 to about '76. I know Jaimoe lived here up until the mid 80's, but it was still too much for him.

Anyway - they throw fits. Otis Redding was also actually from here, so that's a pretty hellacious feather in our cap as well.
Otis is from there too?

I'd say that pretty much says 'bode, backwoods jawjuh!!!!

Feather for what? People realizing that Bacon was way too much of a shithole to stick around? :/

Holy fukk, Little Richard is from Bacon too.

Yeah, absolutely nothing came from that cultural balck hole. Nope, nothing at all. Everything in music worth mentioning is from "The City".

Fukking moron.

OK, so Ray was just born there and grew up in SC. Whatever. I assumed after reading Dinsipedia's post claiming otherwise, it was true.

The fact remains that there is a shitload of musical influence from Georgia, especially early rock. I would say that Ray Charles, Otis Redding, Little Richard, and ABB is a pretty fukking good list.

The only verb I'm coming up with that might begin to try and put into words just how dong-slurping they were would be that they "fiatluxed."
I'm thinking you should get that registered as a trademark, Dins. That has money making potential there.
