raising a Yuengling for the folks who read and post here

Post by PSUFAN »

rack this forum! I browsed tonight for 15 minutes and laughed my fool ass off at least 5 times. That's what it's all about.

Today I watched the PSU game and finally began to expect victory, like the old days. It has taken a while to reach that rarified air, but I'm sucking it in like a mofo right now. I am fuckin' gleeful as I see a PSU FB running over people.

Rack long-standing, subliminal attachments to things like football teams. If you don't have one, you're missing out, 'en 'at.

Yuengling? Nice pussy beer you have there. What, did you think a real beer might have gotten spilled & ruined your new skirt?

i think Sierra Nevada has gone way downhill over the last 5-6 years. i don't think it's as good as it used to be. Porter is still pretty good, though. for NoCal beers we get here in CO.....i still think ANchor Steam is pretty solid. but, 9 bucks a 6 is prohibative. if i'm gonna drop that coin, i usually make the trip downtown to the big liquor store and throw down for a killer German import. maybe MikedrunkenCU fan can testify to the wonder that is Boulder's LiquorMart. Place is just sick.

i buy a lot of Red Hook (for the price, it's a good deal), but the quality seems to vary--either that or the local place doesn't keep it all refridgerated all the time in storage. sometimes it's pretty funky tasting.

if you can get it out of COlorado i don't know but New Belgium Brewery (Fat Tire) makes a 1554 Belgian Black ale that is really good....but you have to let it warm up some.

i'm down with subliminal attachments--though i suspect while many many other mechanisms of socialization failed in my life.....being an Oklahoma fan is not one of them.

it's pretty lock-solid.

Liquor Mart is pretty badass. I usually went to the little liquor store on (I think) 30th & Arapahoe in the King Soopers center. They had a good selection of imports & micros, and always had 3 or 4 different kinds on sale.

There'a a lot of stuff that I miss about Boulder, with the notable exceptions of faux hippies and cold weather. There was a kick-ass little Mexican food place just east of 30th & Arapahoe too. And that huge video store on 28th (I think it's just call Boulder Video) has every fucking movie you can think of. And for PSU fan, there was a little place on (I think) 28th & Pearl called Philly something or other that made pork roll, egg, & cheese sammiches.

It's pretty sad that Tempe doesn't even have an indie video store. And on the whole, the Mexican food in CO rules on the grub here in AZ. Go figure. :?

-Juan's Burrito's to Go (Killer green chile)it's moved a little further east on Arapahoe out in an office park, these days. carnitas smothered deluxe burrito still is awesome).***
-Video Station (place is friggin' unreal)
-Philly Junction (RIP)--my standard game day menu for sitting in front of the TV delivery number in the late 90's was a cheeseteak, italian hoagie with hot peppers, and cheese fries.

***there's a place on the Hill a couple doors down from where Mother's (RIP--I LOVED Mother's) used to be....called Santiago's that's a mexican owned Denver area chain that rocks, these days. no frills, just damned good smothered burritos. good breakfast burrito's too...
