Anyone hear this about Reggie Mcneal?

Post by campinfool »

I just had a thought provoking conversation with an old neighbor, both husband and wife are Texas alumns with an Aggie son. They told me that Reggie and Fran do not see eye to eye and follwing a heated episode last week, Reggie was suspended from the team prior to the Texas game. When the team caught wind of this there was sort of a mutiny with some players refusing to play without their embattled QB . Supposedly the end result was Reggie was allowed on the sideline dressed in his jersey, with the ankle injury being blamed for his lack of dressing in full pads. I have no idea if this is truth or fiction. Not trying to push buttons. Just curious if anyone has heard anything regarding the Reggie/ Fran releationship. It seems far fetched but I doubt these people would BS me.

True Reggie and Fran don't see eye to eye.
False They did not have an argument resulting in him being suspended.

The things I have heard are that Reggie is not much of a leader and was a hinderance to his team more than a help but Fran felt obligated to start him because of lack of depth.

campin,

Reggie and Fran have "not seen eye-to-eye" since the Clemson game. It was about play calling. Nothing loud or boistrous however. Reggie has had two shoulder surgeries and chronic ankle problems because of a weak OL and his running style. He's been banged up for the better part of three years. The strategic proposal/solution, which failed miserably (cf. ISU game), was for Reggie to become a drop-back passer. In an effort to protect him, it made Reggie very uncomfortable at QB.

P.S. Props on the Texas State comeback.
