Mizzou has no one to blame but themselves for Edney....the other two? i'm in Denver, and every once in a while they have McCartney and Charles Johnson on the radio to talk about that 5th down play....and they claim they didn't know....but i think that's BS.

I honestly feel bad for Mizzou, but I hate how people (especially back then) act like it was somehow Colorado's fault. The refs fucked up. End of story.
I remember back when it happened, people were actually suggesting that CU should retroactively forfeit the game.
Right. Because I'm sure they would've spiked the ball on 4th down if they knew it was 4th down.
Not that they would've definitely scored the TD, but I think it's safe to say that they wouldn't have spiked it.

Well, I was living in Nebraska at the time, so maybe the whole "CU should forfeit" movement was more of a local thing. The Buffs had recently risen up and smacked NU in the mouth a couple times, so they weren't the most popular team around those parts. It was just such a ridiculous suggestion, as Huskerfan realized firsthand in 97.
