Barrel Man's Barrel For Sale...
The highest bid is $11,800 right now and it's still under the minimum price Tim McKeran is willing to accept

He’s a freak. It cracks me up to see how high the bidding will go. What’s next? Is that gay leprechaun going to auction off his rainbow umbrella? Is Raider Fan going to auction off his Styrofoam spiked shoulder pads? How much will someone give to the Hogs for their dresses and pig noses?

It has over 50 autographs on it (including Elway and Terrell Davis). Not saying that makes it worth $46K, but I'm sure it would get a pretty high appraisal for being just a "piece of wood."If that pompous shit thinks his wooden diaper is worth more than $46,100, then he needs to go ahead and seal the ends of it...
'Sides, you telling me YOU wouldn't sell a piece of wood to a willing buyer for $46K? I'd have no qualms with banking off someone's myopia.
Same here. More power to the dork, and the bigger dork who paid $46.1K for that piece of crap.MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:I'd have no qualms with banking off someone's myopia.
I never did get into the whole memorabilia thing, though, especially those who pay hundreds or thousands for an autographed item. I'm not sure, but I think it may have something to do with the culture of celebrity worship that much of this society has taken on in the last couple of decades, which just leaves me with no interest whatsoever. Just like I wouldn't give a fuck if I saw Trent Green or Payton Manning on the street, no way in hell I'm paying for somebody's autograph on anything -- not even an entire championship team.
I saw a story on HBO's Inside Sports back in the winter about memorabilia and the amount of fakes out there -- scam artists who make their living off fake autographed crap for the myopians who will pay ridiculous prices for it. It's amazing how much of that is out there, in addition to the "genuine" crap like this guy seems to have.
But to each his own, I suppose, especially if it's an item of personal historical value (like a ball that's been handed down to you in your family that's been autographed by Babe Ruth for your grandfather because the Babe and he used to hang out or something.) Or from a purely investment standpoint, I can understand it in some cases. For every rich myopian, there's always bigger one. Can't say it's something I'll ever aspire to be, even if I win the lottery.
