Most embarassing loss evarrrrrr...
I thought losing to Baylor was bad, but this is next-level embarassing. Montana fucking State??? A 1AA school. Jesus. I've gone through plenty of losses that were a lot more painful, but this has got to be the pinnacle of embarassment. There's absolutely no way to spin this. There's no possible excuse. Colorado should be able to play their 2nd-stringers for the whole game and still beat Montana St. by a couple TDs. I don't care that it's a new offensive system. I don't care that it's a new starting QB. That exactly the reason that you schedule MSU in the first place.
I can't believe I was thinking 8 or 9 wins was a possibility this year. At this point, no game is a gimme. Wow. I don't know what else to say. Just wow.
I would also like to formally apologize to Mikey. I definitely piled on last year after Stanford lost to UC-Davis. If you're reading this, dude, take your best shot. I've certainly earned it.

Karma bit Hawk in the ass today...
Nobody smiled bigger than Bobcats senior free safety Tyrone Henderson, who was one of two starters kicked off the Buffs for violating unspecified team rules following Hawkins' arrival in Boulder.
A little more than a week after transferring to Montana State, Henderson got his revenge, helping the Bobcats pull off the first stunner of the college football season.
"Whatever happened had to happen," said Henderson, declining again Saturday to reveal his transgression other than to say he feels he was singled out as an example. "I'm happy where I'm at. It was a good game."
I gotta disagree about that. Hawkins didn't pull a Franchione, begging his players at Bama to stay at a probation-bound team then bailing on them as soon as he got a chance, or a Holtz, getting Boise in trouble with the NCAA then bailing. Hawkins took Boise as far as the system lets a team like them go. He wanted the opportunity to play with the big dogs for big stakes. Unfortunately he couldn't do that at Boise, so he took another job. I can't fault him for that. The crappy reality is that at half the programs in the country there are significant limits to what you can accomplish there. Boise wasn't going to become a national power(I would honestly love it if they could) and while some coaches are cool with staying at a certain level ala Lavell Edwards you can't expect everyone to be like that.

The sad/funny/pathetic thing is, I was actually going to start a realllllly funny, sarcastic, tongue-in-cheek "Calling out Montana St. fan" thread before this game, but I never got around to it. Sorry I robbed the archives of that gem...
If Hawkins starts Cox against CSU, well, I just don't know what I'll do. GIVE US B JAX, DAMNIT!

i went to CU's second scrimmage/PR event and i came away thinking BJax was CU's best chance to win games. sure, you commit to being sort of one-dimensional.....but that's better then none-dimensional.MiketheangrydrunkenCUfan wrote: GIVE US B JAX, DAMNIT!
teh scary thought for Buff fans is all the off-season "marketing" and "Your Team" BS is all wasted money now....and the real cost is the beatdown CU will take in the local media (bored with no Broncos to fellate until next Sunday)....and loss of positive interest in Denver. they are back to less than square one. a L to CSU, and lovable media lapdog Sonny is back to being infallible and the "same as it ever was" leg-humping of he and Fisher will supplant CU in the media-eye.
edit: also, loss to Montana State has to hurt in keeping local 5 star OL Ryan Miller at home. shows CU and ND as faves.

I couldn't see why he wasn't at least #2 on the depth chart last year after he lit it up in the 05 spring game. I was really hoping the new staff would see his game-breaker potential. From what I read, he needs to be more patient with his reads, but I think his pocket presence would improve if they just committed to him. I could've handled White beating him out this year, but when Cox got the job, I knew we were in trouble. B Jax definitely has the most upside of any of their QBs, and at this point, they literally have nothing to lose.King Crimson wrote:i went to CU's second scrimmage/PR event and i came away thinking BJax was CU's best chance to win games. sure, you commit to being sort of one-dimensional.....but that's better then none-dimensional.MiketheangrydrunkenCUfan wrote: GIVE US B JAX, DAMNIT!
Either that or just burn Cody Hawkins' red shirt. Hell, true freshman or not, he probably knows the offense better than anyone else on the team...

Agree with Danimal, I think Hawkins is a good fit there. Just didn't see this coming at all. Can't really understand how something like that happened.
Still M-Dub, with all the dicking around that Koetter's been up to this summer, I gotta think the CU-ASU game will be a game worth watching. Maybe the Buffs can hang around just long enough to watch Dirk's head explode.
