I guess Christmas comes early in norman. You got a gift in that game. UAB was completely screwed on that fumble. I must give a special thanks to Paul Thompson and the blOwU offensive line for making me look like Nostradamus.

BTW what the hell happened to your defense? I thought they were the best in the stoops era?

I can't wait til Oct 7 :waz:

Eat shit you asshole, I am tired of your Tejas shit. Yeah you might beat OU again this year, but who thought TCU would only lose one game last year?

If I were Tejas fan I would be a lot more concerned about Ohio St than OU at this point.

Again fuck you.

I also thought the fumble was a raw deal too, but UAB had a lot of chances in that game and you can't assign that much blame to the officiating. What blew my mind was the last 4th down play by UAB. With no timeouts I think you gotta go for it. Even though it's 4th and long Oklahoma was able to run out the clock without a 1st down. Bad decision by Watson. I will say AD looked back to form and was a monster. If not for him we might be seeing some Okies contacting CU fan for suicide options. He is either going to carry the team or get worn out/ injured from over use.

Hey Okie, who else is on the depth chart behind Thompson. He looked less than stellar. A lot of his throws were high. Could mean some future picks or some receivers getting laid out in the future. I can't beleive with the type of recruits that Stoops lands that he is the best QB on the team.

If today is any indication Mack is getting his third win over OU. Thompson is a meh qb, likely always will be. McCoy will only get better with a few starts under his belt, and Texas may well have the best O-line in the country. I still like Stoops better than Mack but Stoops no longer has the staff advantage he once held.

Unfortunately this likely means my skers will have the priviledge of getting whacked by Texas twice this season.

The unfortunate thing is you concede like France most always.
So what, our strength doesn't match what you believe to be Texas's.
UT's O-line vs. NU's D front?
I'm as realistic as can be and I'll admit that's a rarity when the Cornhuskers are the topic of conversation in this state, but dude, you listen too much media BS I guess.
Colt McCoy gets his joint lube on ever ESPN break by beating N. Texas, yet a guy in Lincoln, against every bit as good as talent blows his numbers away inspite of 30 yards of dropped balls and another TD.
Games in Lincoln.
If NU plays full strength in that game, no addtional injuries, we (meaning Nebraska fans) will win that game with home field advantage and determination by a guy from Oklahoma and the Southside.

Well said, Husker!

Texas beat an average, Texas high school football team.

I know, since I lived in Houston for 13 years and can name at least 10 high school teams in Houston that could beat North Texas State.

The reason there's nobody better on the depth chart is:

Brent Rawls-kicked off the team for being a jackass.

Tommy Grady-transferred because he fell behind on the depth chart. Fell behind on the depth chart because he was failing out of school and had to take intersession classes during practice.

Rhett Bomar-well, we all know the story.

Coach takes the rules seriously. Unfortunately, he hasn't done a great job of recruiting QBs recently that are able to find their ass with both hands and a flashlight.
I know why OU has run low on qb's and I commend Stoops for being a stand-up guy. But it still doesn't change the fact that PT is pretty mediocre. He'll get better with more reps, but not a lot better. OU should be good this season but I don't see them as a BCS-team.

I can say what I want, I'm just a goof on a messageboard, not on the field or coaching. If what I said mattered I'd be much more rah-rah about this game. We do stand a chance, the game is in Lincoln, O should rise to the occasion, and our front-7 on D is pretty nasty. But that chance isn't particularly good. The difference is up-front. Texas has an awesome o-line. We have credible pass-blocking but still just aren't opening holes for the run-game. Our secondary is suspect and they'll likely pick-up our blitzes well enough to exploit that secondary. Plus their run-game is too good to totally pin our ears back, Young and Charles will get theirs'. I think we'll give Texas a real game, I just can't honestly say I think we'll win.

tOSU is #1, how is losing to them going to make me a total ass? Texas should lose to #1 that is why they are #1 and Texas is not. With that said I expect us to win, but I'm not going to be too broken hearted if we lose as long as we aren't blown out. I would be much more embarrassed if we played UNT and only beat them by 7 pts and watched our defense get drilled like a 2 dollar whore. You should be happy now when you get drilled by UO it won't come as a shock like it did last year against TCU.

In my humble(d) opinion, Paul Thompson should not be part of the discussion today. He played pretty well in wet conditions and, for the most part, looked poised and confident. I expect him to be a bright spot by the end of the year. Peterson is so good it's sick. He could've had a monster game yesterday if not for the "defense", which allowed UAB to control the clock.

Speaking of defense...what the flying fuck was that, Messrs. Stoops & Venables? I've seen amputees tackle better than that. We all knew that the offense would need time to come together. But the Sooner D looks like it may be the most overrated unit in the country. How you let some white dude with 6.6 speed work you like he's Tommie Frazier is beyond me. It seems like the defense has been lacking a true leader since Derrick Strait graduated. Maybe Rufus will step up. Maybe Gerald McCoy is the leader of the future. Maybe Watson Brown is the best coach in his family. :D

My Report Card

Quarterback (B-)
Running Backs (A)
Receivers (C-)
Offensive Line (C+)

Defensive Line (C)
Linebackers (C-)
Secondary (D+)

Kicking Game (B)
Return Game (A)

Offensive Coaching (C+)
Defensive Coaching (C-)

Ya the offense wasn't really surprising. You know Peterson would look awesome and the rest look fairly average.

What I didn't see coming was a meh UAB offense having some success against what is supposed to be an absolute monster of an OU-defense. Maybe they bought too much into the hype and didn't come to play. But I'm guessing they'll strap-it-up for the ducks.

Problem number two was that DJ Wolfe doesn't hand off coverages well at all and peeks into the backfield too much.
Someone's been in his ear lately with some "NFL teams want to know that you're a strong tackler" talk since he converted from offense... Gah.
