Tennessee is my new favorite SEC team
I can't blame them for taking advantage of our many weaknesses and kicking our asses; that's what you're supposed to do in football. And their fans haven't even gloated that much.
Very classy fans... here are some of their thoughts after the game.

"It is still possible for an 11-1 Cal Team to meet up with a 13-0 UT in the NC Game.
Trust me, once a OB is picked and The WR become comfortable with him, Cal will roll. A few dropped passes not dropped and a few CBs going after the WR instead of the ball and this game could have been MUCH different..."

"you guys caught us on a night we put everything together. we havent done that at home this decade. you guys have a fine football team and will have much success this season. i'm glad there were no serious injuries reported and we can both go about winning the rest of the games on the schedule. looking forward to seeing you in berkely next fall."

"Just got back from my 2 hour drive home and all I can say is man...what a game. You guys just really caught us at the worst possible time. For those of you who compared playing at Autzen to Neyland...now do you see why I thought it was funny? This is one observation I have: You guys need to lose Longshore. He looked like a deer in headlights out there, you guys have plenty of talent but you honestly just need a QB that knows what is going on. Good luck the rest of the way and take your frustration out on Minnesota."

Found this little nugget on ESPN in Mark Schlabach's article on Ainge's performance today.....
"Tennessee receivers coach Trooper Taylor said the Bears also made the Volunteers' jobs easier. Taylor said the Volunteers were able to pick up California's defensive signals from the coaches' box and relay the signals to the sideline. So sometimes, Ainge knew what defense he was going to face before he even stepped to the line of scrimmage."

"I've followed sports for long enough to know that it was "one of those days" for you all. This was just the first game. You guys can still reach all of your goals, including a national title. Maybe we could meet again in the Fiesta. That would be great.
We made it up for the game. Things have been rough lately, so we thought we needed this diversion. I chatted up some guys with Cal Rugby shirts on. They were kind of surprised that I had seen the match with BYU on TV and that I was aware of Cal's great tradition. Friendly Bears all around. I hope you all were treated well.
We hope to make it out to Cal for the game next year. My wife was born in San Mateo. Mother-in-law is from San Francisco. Have always wanted to visit the area. They've told me I won't want to come back. We'll see.
Don't let this loss get you down. It is a long season. You all have NC-caliber talent and coaching."
"It's been a pleasure dealing with these great fans... "

Can't really have it both ways. Logic out front shoulda told ya. Either Cal has NC caliber players and coaches...therefore, making them a "NC caliber team," or they don't have NC caliber players and coaches, rendering them a non NC caliber team. The Seer wrote:Ugh, yes they do, really....
Take a freaking side and stick to it.

Running CF smack, in a CF forum makes me bitter?
You seem pretty sensitive, Jimmy.
Perhaps this place is better suited for you: http://www.disney.com

If you want me to bash you with it... I'll be more than happy too.
It's best you just quietly leave this thread and act like you never made that post. It's your call.

To all the Cal Fans (Long)
that attended the Vols to the Wall Tailgate, I just want to say what a pleasure and joy it was to meet everyone!! Jack, myself and the other members of our VTTW gang enjoyed hosting your entire group! But boy can you folks EAT! HAW!!! :) You went through 150 pounds of smoked chicken/beef/pork, 20+ pounds of potato salad, 10 pounds of coleslaw, 15+ pounds of Grannys Nanner Puddin' ("secret" recipe below), a couple of hundred buns, 2 huge mexican layer dip, slews of chips and other dips, cheese cake, etc etc.....AND, I apologize once again for the late arrivals having no food to eat -- we were out of food by around 2:30!! WOW!!!! I don't have an official count, but we believe there were at least 200 Cal fans throughout the day!
I also wanted to say that I hope each and every one of you enjoyed your Game Day Experience in Knoxville (excluding the outcome of the game).......I'd love to hear from you as to how your experience was -- good or bad -- what did you think of the total gameday atmosphere...the Vol Walk....the opening of the "T" pre-game, the 107,000 orange clad fans...etc etc... We pride ourselves in Knoxville as one of the best places for opposing fans to visit and feel welcome......if we held up that end of our responsibility, I will be very happy.
As to the game, well, of course I'm a very happy Vol right now.....I thought it would be close, a 3 point game one way or the other.....BUT hold your heads up high, be proud of a fine team. I believe the Bears just came into a situation where the Vols were out to prove last year would not happen again -- they met a team with an "attitude" and from the opening kickoff, our guys were not going to let up. I also think your guys saw the type of defense you'll face anytime you play a SEC team.....SPEED SPEED SPEED...and those LBs that had never started before? Well, Chavis was heard to say last year that this years LBs would be some of the best he's had....time will tell, but they played their part perfectly last night. Ainge? Well, from what I saw, his mental game is back......never doubted his physical ability, but he lost the mental toughness he needs -- last night, I believe he gained a whole lot of confidence in himself.
One more thing -- I told a bunch of you yesterday that there wasn't a "Go Bear" in this old body of mine......but from this point forward......I'll be a Bear fan! GO BEARS!! Hope you win them all from here on out!
All in all, I had a wonderful day.....with my back problems I choose to sell my tix and go to my Mom's house....so I watched the game in the AC, in a recliner, watching a 60" big screen TV, sipping on a fine bottle of California red wine that was brought by one of your fine fans yesterday......so my day with you folks was wonderful...and my evening with my family watching the game was perfect...so I'm a happy camper! :) Thanks for all the invites to CA next year.....my husband and I are going to seriously discuss it and maybe plan that trip!
Now to the "secret" nanner puddin' recipe:
Buy a box of Original Nilla Wafers and get the recipe off the side of the box for "original Banana pudding"! HAW!!! :) That's my secret -- never ever use instant pudding in banana pudding...awful! The one addition I make to the recipe is I sprinkle some drained crushed pineapple as part of each layer -- gives a little added something to the taste.
I will also root for "the vols" from here on out... very classy

Exception noted: BlindRef has a sense of humor unlike MgoBittermantoughguywannabe.
No real surprise MgoBtgw is so distraught. Can't be easy as the red-headed stepchild of the state with fans like Babs in your court.

IF (if) you read my post, I stated that NC stood for NO Chance.
Why is that so complicated?

WOW. Another original Mgo'tough guy' post. Tell us - how far back in your temp files did you have to search to come up with that gem.MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:Why don't you go bang out a few "Sin, Pedo in Seattle" posts. That's about the only thing you're good for these days.
Don't hate on the fact that you live in a shitty place and root for a shitty team. Get back to us when you bring relevance to this forum.
