FSU-MIA
OK, who ya like?
Miami offensively was a fucking trainwreck, and their QB is back. They have lost a few guys to suspension, and coker is on the hott seat, so who ya like.
Jeff Bowden kinda equalizes miamis offensive woes, so who has the better defense?

Miami has a sick defense this year. FSU lost 7 starters from last years D. 4 were NFL first rounders, almost as many as Iowa.
FSU coaching staff has been making noise all off season about how they are committed to the run this year.Don't believe it. The O line is healthier but average at best. No patience combined with a lack of immediate results will make that running game noise disappear. Miami will pin thier ears back and come hard after Weatherferd.
Miami will be with out 4 O starters but won't be with out talent. New coaches will be hard to D scheme against .
Miami at home wins by 4 because a) Jeff Bowden will not have an effective game plan , b) JB can't make in game adjustments, and c) Bobby will coach "not to loose" rather than to win.

This game screams under. Should be an unusually low scoring affair. I think the total will be well under 30. Unless there are defensive or special team scores it will be something like 14-9. I'll take thwe Noles.
The number is ranging from 39 to 41. I love the under here.

That's a statement of the obvious... but I still don't ever recall a 1st half in which FSU gained only 40-some total yards. That's ineptness that even FSU teams of recent haven't visited.Believe the Heupel wrote:Anyone watching the past few years. I've wondered the same. As recently as Sunday after seeing the CU-Mont. St. score. How does THAT happen?Believe the Heupel wrote:Hey, man, I'm just sayin'.Ken wrote:That's a statement of the obvious... but I still don't ever recall a 1st half in which FSU gained only 40-some total yards. It's really bizarre to me how many teams that are absolutely loaded with talent can't seem to put together a coherent offense, while so many teams without the talent seem to light up scoreboards.
Did you guys see that flag (catch interference)? The ref had his hand on the flag before the Miami guy even got close...just waiting to throw it. That was weird if not a little shady. I don't know if I agree with the call but Quickdraw McGraw may be trying a little too hard to influence the game.

My point remains. CU's talent level surely exceeds the talent of Mont. St. roughly to the same degree the talent of FSU does to say the likes of... LaTech, a team who of recent could put up some numbers. Something FSU hasn't been able to do.Believe the Heupel wrote:Well, I don't think CU really has a great store of talent to begin with, and the talent they DO have isn't suited to running Hawkins' offense is what I think happened.

Yeah, it was FSU's D that caused Wright to fumble the snap. It was FSU's D that caused the multiple illegal motion penalties by Miami. It was FSU's D that caused Miami's center to somehow forget that Wright was in the shotgun, not under center.Cicero wrote:Two great defenses tonight. I'm just glad FSU found a way to win. Best defense in the nation.
Listen, cicero... FSU's d is damned good, no doubt. But keep it in perspective will ya? For as bad as FSU's O was the first half, Miami's in the 2nd made them appear to USC's last year. If there was a keystone cops screenplay for football, last night's O of Miami would be the true story it was based upon.

I didn't think the blocking was as bad as the pass rushers were just GOOD -- Really fast and good. Those were just extremely well timed blitzes by both teams. I don't expect Kyle Wright to drop dimes when he has half a second to react.Ken wrote:Yeah, it was FSU's D that caused Wright to fumble the snap. "The O-lines were terrible"
Nope, not stellar, for sure, but it's funny how "bad" o-line play can often result from good defensive pressure. At what point do you stop blaming the o-lines, and give credit to the defenses? There were some amazingly fast and talented players on defense out there. Both offenses were just flat-out intimidated, and it doesn't help when the defenses are bringing the house on virtually every down.
What I got from the media:
ND beat GT 14-10. And ND played well and the offense stuttered only because it was an early season game.
FSU beat um 13-10. And FSU played poorly and will lose 3 because of their poor offensive output.
HAHAHA...I love the nd ballsucking.
ND got lucky. FSU got lucky. Both arent top 5 teams yet but atleast FSU struggled against a team in the top 15.
Thank god I was wrong.
--------
Next up- Troy. FSU does not need to look past the trojans.
