I don't think most people here know Portland State's football history... but this game scares me.
To give some people an idea of what kinda team Portland State is...
A Win over Portland State provides more computer points... than 58% of 1A programs...inc. Arkansas, Arizona, Washington and Stanford.
Now tell me why you were playing a team the would get its ass kicked by New Mexico????
Sit down Van, you've gravy trained a school you've never attended... for much to long.
All we need to know, m2. You scheduled a 1-AA school. That should never happen. With so many teams all around the country all crying the same lament that people backed out and this was all we could get on short notice it's obvious that ADs all over the country are choosing the path of least resistance whenever they stumble upon an open slot in their schedules.
Oh, and since you supposedly attended the "greatest academic university in the world", or whatever you called it yesterday, why is it that you write and spell at the level of a mediocre seventh grader? You sure as hell didn't go to Cal on a football scholarship so there goes that excuse so how did you manage to get through a good four year university when you can't even write at a satisfactory high school level??
WHEN Oregon rolls USC, I can hardly wait to hear the whining about it from Van...since Oregon also has Portland State on the schedule.
Then again, it's hard to compare Cal scheduling PSU to Oregon -- Oregon has a HUGE financial interest in keeping the people of Portland happy, since the majority of their fanbase is in Portland. And there a lot of people who attended both universities around these parts.
But dang, Portland State is definitely on the comeback trail. Maybe in my lifetime, they'll be a member of an expanded PAC10...that would be too booyah for words...I'll still have full allegiance to the Ducks, of course.
I could say SC is the worst team of all time on 3rd downs, with less than 40 yards to go, on the road, at night, while Who's The Boss re-runs are airing, and he'd still defend it.

but without van, wed have socal as the tard usc fan, id take 10 vans over 1 socal.
UCLA Fan Socal will not be pleased with this, oh no.
Mgo, once again you pull the ol' pot/kettle deal. This is a message board. We all react to most anything that's written here that either mentions us or concerns our team. Just like your conjecture argument or your needing to have the last word argument you're every bit as guilty as I am (or anyone else here is) when it comes to taking the bait and responding back.
Taking the bait and running with it is what fuels a thriving message board. This board is in fact thriving, and you're a large part of the reason why. I'd hope that none of us here wouldn't have it any other way. This place would soon become a silent morgue if we all stopped taking the bait...

not that idiot, socal the usc fan, leader in board bitch points.
Adel, correct me if I'm wrong here but with his Cal/Tennessee predictions/rants/post game excuses didn't m2 take a four stroke lead into the clubhouse?
I hate to pile on m2 since I seem to be one of the only people here who actually like and enjoy the guy but from what I've been reading on this board this past year it sure seems to me that m2 has that title safely under lock and key.

m2 is the easy choice.
eventually ya have to see through the stupidity of m2, he loves the attention, which is why soon after a game he predicted wrong, he will post about him being right, to get everyone riled and accept another pileon.
its like picking on the short yellow kids, its fun at first, but then what?
m2's mere existence means he has that title locked up, but I sorta agree with Adel. The one-sided homer that is SoCalTrjn has, within the shadows, competed for this title for quite some time. Don't get me wrong -- he is, and always has been a distant 3rd or 4th, at best, though.
His dorky and oafish, "it ain't a sport unless someone breaks their sternum," mentality, alone, solidifies a spot in the top five for the dude. He's the kinda guy who'd let you break a beer bottle over his head for crowd laughter's sake, and would join right in on the hilarity, thinking everybody's laughing with him.

Point of clarification: m2 didn't graduate from Kal, and he's already admitted as much on this board.
That having been said, he definitely has an exaggerated opinion of Kal's academic standing. Not saying that Kal isn't a good school, but it isn't nearly as great as m2 makes it out to be.

did you end up going to the game? any problems with the bugeater fans?
I was there. Big Red represented in a big way - red and white all over the place. Not a single fan said a word to me at any point during the day. They seemed a bit subdued...I didn't see any Huskerfans talking to any SCfans. Don't know why, but they seemed to keep to themselves.
By the middle of the fourth quarter, they were emptying the building at a pretty steady rate.
As we were walking back to the car I saw one Huskerfan buy a hotdog from some steet vendor. After he paid, I heard him say "I can't believe I just spent four fucking dollars on a hot dog".
Our offense played like shit. Sad to see Ryan destroy his ankle on that play - saw it on replay when I got home. Ugh.

Regardless, he still spells and writes at a level well below what one would expect from somebody who managed to spend any time in a classroom at Cal and yeah, I'm left wondering about it...
