12 semi-Finalists named for Lombardi

Post by Cicero »

Paul Posluzny(PSU)
Patrick Willis(Ole Miss)
Buster Davis(FSU)
Quinn Pitcock(tOSU)
Lamar Woodley(Mich)
Brian Smith(Mizz)
Gaines Adams(Clem)
Quentin Moses(UGA)
Mcristo Bruce(Wash St)
Joe Thomas(Wisc)
Justin Blalock(Texas)

* ALL 12 ARE SENIORS

A little surprised Dan Conner and Levi Brown didnt make the list. I think Connor is having a better season than Poz. Also, Laurinitis not being on that list is a shame. He has a great shot at being 1st team AA and has made big play after big play.

Twice?

Maualuga in trouble once again
By Scott Wolf, Staff writer
Oct. 28: at Oregon State, 12:30 p.m.

FSN, KSPN/710
LOS ANGELES - USC coach Pete Carroll disciplined linebacker Rey Maualuga following unruly behavior at an off-campus party following the Trojans' win over Washington on Oct. 9.

Carroll confirmed he took action against Maualuga but declined to give specific details.

"We've dealt with it internally," he said.

According to witnesses, Maualuga became aggressive during a fraternity party. Campus security eventually arrived at the scene, but no reports were filed with them or the Los Angeles Police Department.

"He was pushing people around," said a USC student who attended the party. "He did it to a lot of people."

Sources said part of the punishment involved Maualuga continuing to attend alcoholic and drug counseling meetings along with anger management. He agreed to those programs last spring after being charged with one misdemeanor count of battery stemming from punching a student at a Halloween party near campus last year.

Maualuga declined comment but two weeks ago said he completed those courses.

"I've done what I need to do and I'm just concentrating on football," Maualuga said.

However, last Friday, Maualuga re-enrolled in some courses, according to sources.

Under the original terms of the program, Maualuga was told to complete 24 hours of anger management counseling and attend 26 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, perform 100 hours of community service, formally apologize to the victim and the university, and begin a mentoring program with other athletes, said Frank Mateljan, a spokesman for the city attorney's office.

Another source said Maualuga also had football tickets taken away from him because of his behavior.

Sources said Carroll lectured the team Monday about problems occurring on Fraternity Row, where friction often takes place between athletes and fraternity members. Former wide receiver Marcell Allmond was suspended after getting into an altercation there in 2001.

And Heisman Trophy winner Matt Leinart was involved in a fight there his freshman year.

Blalock is having a dominate year, he and the rest of the Longhorns were able to pretty much shutdown peacock. My guess is that Paul Posluzny gets it due to his East coast location.

Man... if he steps it up, he could probably even have a dominant year. Posluzny gets it for coming back. Austin_Irie gets a vote in the Scripps-Howard Poll though.

If he came to Texas he probably would be sporting 3 straight Big 12 titles, a MNC and a Heisman.

Of course that is speulation but since he was the difference in the 2k4 game I feel pretty good that is how things would have worked out.

If and buts man.
So I guess what you are saying is he is weak minded and would have followed a psycho gangsta, if that is what you are saying then I'm glad he went to blOwU.

No I'm the guy that said it was a rumor floating around, you can kill the messenger but it won't change the fact that it was a rumor.

so which year does he win the Heisman, Vito? does he beat out Leinart? or Bush? or VY? and, since UT has only actually won one of the 3 conference titles you suggest.......you sound like a typical homer. UT can and should win the conference.....but you got some games to play.
