King, the penalty wasn't enough for a first down and UCLA wanted to rekick to burn more clock and to see if they could move ND back.

My contention w/that choice is that since Dorrell knew he'd go conservative on D, he'd need as much time remaining as possible to have to score again... err... I mean to let the clock run down to zero while over the ball.
