Desert Swarm Comeback?

Not sure if this is GD but Texas looks like they are turning to the past to resurrect their defense. They hired Larry Mac Duff from the 49ers to coach defense with previous Co-DC Duane Akina. Both were UA Wildcats staffers during the Desert Swarm glory years. Grumblings around here are that Chizick didn't mesh with the rest of the staff and Mac Duff is believed to be a "good fit".

Never heard that about Chizik. I think the real problem with our DBs was they read too much into their press clippings. I have no idea what went wrong with our pass rush? :( We generated no pass rush with two DE that will both be drafted on the first day and a DT that would have been a 1st/2nd round pick if he came out. That is way too much talent for what we got out of them.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the defense looks like under Duff. BTW when it is all said and done I wouldn't be surprised to see Akina move to another school as their DC.
