VH reunion, take.....I dunno... 47?
Maybe this is GD material, but, look like Dave and the boys, well, the VH boys, anyway are once again toying with us about a reunion tour. I guess they're looking around at groups like the police who are making more in a reunion tour than they made during their entire career, and are thinking, dayum, that sure would by alotta booze and smokes (eddie), coke and groupies (dave).
Apparently mike anthony won't be part of it as eddie is pissed at him for playing with sammy. In his place will be eddie's 15 year old kid, wolfgang.
I will go ahead and set the over/under on this all going to shit.....again, at labor day.
I will keep my fingers crossed though that they actually pull it off, partly because I am a big VH fan and partly out of morbid curiosity to see how horrible it could get. Not that MA was any bass god (far from it), but, can a 15 year old kid fill his roll?
Too bad Eddie is such a dick and won't patch things up with sammy. It would be interesting to see him and diamond dave up there at the same time. Not sure what dave would do during van hagar numbers.....probably a line or two backstage.

Indeed
Loves me some Patty Smyth some, much. She was a Pat Benatar clone, except for the midget part.

Re: VH reunion, take.....I dunno... 47?
Michael Anthony was on a local KC radio station the other morning and he said that he'd be all for a reunion tour, but it's totally up to "them" (meaning the brothers Van Halen) to make it happen. Sad thing is, MA probably had the best voice of ANY of the front men that played with them. He even said that they should do a reunion tour with Sammy AND Diamond Dave together. Now THAT would be interesting.smackaholic wrote:Apparently mike anthony won't be part of it as eddie is pissed at him for playing with sammy. In his place will be eddie's 15 year old kid, wolfgang.

Eddie is well-known for throwing people under the bus and Al goes along with it. I never liked Sammy being with =VH= but people I know that have met him says he's a cool mofo. In fact, Sammy is building a 2nd Cabo Wabo in... yep... Fresno. Why? Bill Church maybe? I know =VH= over the years loved Fresno and even their live album was recorded here.
Anyway, about 10 years ago there was a serious Van Halen message board and Valerie Bertinelli was an active participant. She was very pleasant as she would actually e-mail her stalkers... errr, best friends and I asked her about what Wolfgang was going to do. She told me that Wolf gravitated towards the drums. I guess playing bass isn't that hard to do. No way he can sing like Mike Anthony Sibeleski.
Ed is a fucking prick if he's doing what I read to Mike.

The void to fill is the space between Edward Van Halen's ears. Van Halen has been dead for 10 years. Maybe somebody should tell him.Rack Fu wrote:I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thinks that Anthony's backing vocals were the glue that kept Van Halen's vocals together. Last time around for DLR on his own tour, He couldn't sing for shit. When he was with VH originally, they had to tune down 1/2 a step to accomodate him.Rack Fu wrote:I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thinks that Anthony's backing vocals were the glue that kept Van Halen's vocals together. I can't imagine 20 plus years of hard living has improved his voice. A lot of what he did back then was yell and scream, anyway. I'm on board with the train wreck concept here. I give em about 10 shows before they implode.

jeebus keeerist bushice, your the most myopic optimistic pos to ever draw breath.
Everything that ever came out of DLR's maw was a screech. He is not a singer, he is a rock and roll front man. One of the best ever back in the day.
And you think they'll go 10 deep? It will be an official church fukking sactioned miracle if this train wreck even shows up at it's first gig.
God, I hope I'm wrong, but, I doubt it.
Oh well, we still got EVH pron soundtracks to look forward to.

I don't disagree. I'm just sayin they will give it a shot, and play to sold out houses, and the shows will suck. Hell, if you watch a live video of one of their performances back in the day, he looks more like a cheerleader on 'roids. That's not a slam on the band, that's what he was, and there's no way he can recreate that moment in time where he got away with that. Ever.smackaholic wrote:jeebus keeerist bushice, your the most myopic optimistic pos to ever draw breath.

Check this vid. He fucking talks half the words. The only real singers here are Eddie and Mikey.

and THAT was when they were at their peak.
Yeah I think they will. The piles of cash they will make are just too fucking tempting. And you think they'll go 10 deep? It will be an official church fukking sactional miracle if this train wreck even shows up at it's first gig.

I look forward to Eddie firing DLR and all the meltdown that will come out of it purely for the entertainment value, though.
hmm lets see, what washed up vocalist with a desire to be considered a legit rocker is left out there for eddie to consider as a replacement?
David Cassidy maybe? ;)

I'd like to know when it was that Merrill turned into Fred Sanford:

Yeah THAT was hard.
I somehow managed to click on Nishlords link, and then with great effort I clicked on the image of the picture I saw there. Finally, with one valiant glance, I looked at the subtitle of the picture, and read the names and was able to figure out he was third from the left. Exhausted, mentally spent, I came back here. The rest you know.
I know, I know, no one should have to go through all that. I did it for the board.

Anytime your defense to any accusations of any kind involve explaining how you furiously punched "The Osmonds" into search engines, then offering up a critique of how sharp the participants of the Rootbeer Family Christmas Special may or may not have looked...
