Too bad my boy James is not participating these days.
I'd like to hear his takes on JaSavior's play yesterday.
Here's part of what coach Kiffin had to say .....
- Lane Kiffin had a long list when asked what rookie quarterback JaMarcus Russell needed to improve on after struggling in the first extensive playing time of his NFL career.
"Where do you start?" the Oakland Raiders coach said Monday. "Ball handling in the run game. Footwork in the passing game. Decision making, timing, accuracy. You name it, it was out there on film yesterday. So he's got a long ways to go."
Kiffin criticized Russell for "extremely poor decision making" in the game. Russell threw three interceptions and lost a fumble, but Kiffin said he was lucky not to have five passes picked.
"I haven't been around decision making like that before, as far as just throwing the ball up across the field like he did a number of times," Kiffin said. "I'm sure that didn't help his confidence. Your first time playing an extended amount of time like that, to not have success can't help." -
Oakland has been beaten the fugg down in 2 of it's past 3 games.
35-3 by the Peckers and 49-11 by the Faguars.
Mail it in much?
I frankly could see a similar result next week v. the Chargers.
I'd say it's about 70/30 that Lane Kiffin retains his yob -- if he wants to retain it, that is.
Of course there was speculation that he's got feelers out for a head college gig.
Where there's smoke there's fire?
I dunno.
There's also been 'talk' that Kiffin was NOT in favor of drafting Russell.
If that's the case, and he doesn't believe the kid is gonna pan out, Lane might be looking for an exit strategy out of Oakland.
Then again, maybe Al, in his current state of dementia, and thinking M. Martz or J. Fassell, .... or whoever ..... would be better able to get the team on a fast track to success, will simply pull the plug on Lane.
Lots of scenarios.
The scenario I am HOPING for is that Al does nothing and let's Kiffin do the job a head coach is supposed to do.
Clean some more house, build upon the foundation set this year, draft decently, and try to put together a decent year in '08.
Russell looked like stir fried shit yesterday.
No two ways about that.
Well, the Faguars D is pretty good, that team was highly motivated, and what we're seeing right now is actually Russell's pre-season.
One might also say, hey, but the list of high quality QB's who played terribly early on in their career is lengthy.
Yep, true enough.
I'd venture to say that all of those QB's have IQ's that dwarf JaSavior's, however.
Maybe I'm too old school or something, but it bothers me that my garbage collector has always been able to put sentences together with more understandability than does JaFuture.

Yet JaRyan Leaf is going to START next Sunday against the Bolts???
WTF did happen to Lames anyway...I actually miss Dude's Tourettes-esque football takes, and he's a fellow gearhead to boot.
But enough about all that nonsense Pops....let's get to the nitty-gritty here. Care to elaborate on your boy W. Sapp's antics in this last game? Pretty over the top, even by Sapp-Daddy's standards. Maybe that was HIS way of trying to get run out of Oak-town at season's end, perhaps?![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

I think it makes sense to start Russell v. the Blots.
Get the kid his game experience.
Don't know about James.
The officials hosed Oakland.
Sapp melted.

Sources: NFL considers suspending Sapp one game for bumping official

Sapp
Oakland Raiders defensive tackle Warren Sapp faces a possible one-game suspension for bumping an official in
Sunday's game against Jacksonville, league sources confirmed to ESPN. A decision could come Wednesday.
Sapp was ejected from the game after he bumped umpire Garth DeFelice late in the second quarter. He earlier
had drawn a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for verbally abusing an official, which apparently was ongoing
in the game, sources said.
Sapp faces a suspension because he bumped DeFelice but also because he has been warned previously by the league
for his occasional verbal assaults on officials. If he is not suspended, he can expect a hefty fine, sources said.

Garth let his fellow DeFelices down… any true DeFelice, would have bitch-sapped that mouthy tub-o-goo.
