I've heard rumors that Bob Davie may be headed back to aTm as their Defensive Coordinator. You know anything about this?
If so, good luck with that. Then again, he did all right as your DC. For us, he was a step down from Alvarez and even Minter. And he was far worse than that as a head coach. But aTm is where he always wanted to coach anyway.

Re: Hey Indy Frisco
Rumors I have heard were that Joe Kines is going to be the DC.
That is...if they can revive him.

Davie is not going to be the DC from what I hear. I heard he was offered but turned it down. Not good when you get rejected by a has-been/never-was.

Kines is a good hire, IMO.
and, at the very least, we CFB fans won't be deprived of Davie's thrilling insight and on-air charisma.
win-win. :?

Well, don't take me for my word. It was just a rumor. Other rumors were that Kines was selling drugs and stealing TVs. Not sure we'd want that kind of cancer at THE Texas A&M.King Crimson wrote:Kines is a good hire, IMO.

If Davie turned down the gig, I'm not sure what to make of it. He and Sherman have been boys for awhile. And his heart was always at A&M. Don't think for a moment that he wouldn't have left ND in a New York minute had A&M come calling (why didn't you, dammit? :brad: )
Objectively, though, his ESPN job has to be much cushier, even if he did get demoted last year.

Yeah, I would be surprised too if Davie was offered and turned it down, but that's what I heard. He probably would have taken the HC job if offered. Maybe that's why he turned it down. Not sure.
