Tenn #2 vs Memphis #1

Post by Adelpiero »

Holy fuck

Talk about street ball, ugliest 40 minutes of basketball played in a long time.

WOW add in the refs swallowing their whistle, yikes!

Neither of these teams have a shot at winning a nation title. Put them in half court offense and its a ragged form of street ball.

these refs are horrible. ive seen at least 6 travels and probably 2-4 times a player received a pass while his foot was out of bounds. ugly orange uniforms and penny hardaway make me want to throw up peanuts and natty light.
help me scrape the mucus off my brain

Would you expect any more from a street ball team?

yes, i've seen street ball, even the ghetto'ist of ghetto kids hit their free throws. Can't win buckets without the free ones!

Neither team has a bench to speak of but the Vols got 13 and 8 out of Prince. I was expecting a game in the 80s but neither team shot all that well from the field. I surprised the Vols beat the Tigers on the glass...thought Memphis had the edge with Dozier and Dorsey. Going forward, I still like Memphis making a longer run in the tournament. They have beaten the likes of Georgetown, Oklahoma, USC and Connecticut. This was Tennessee's first really good win out of conference. They did beat Xavier just before they went on their current 15-1 run.

The streetball wouldn't be so effective if Memphis couldn't shoot behind the 3 point line. They'll still be dangerous in the tourney, but no, I can't pick them to win it all. I'm impressed UT pulled it out on the road with Lofton having such a piss poor game.

It was an exciting game though, in a trainwreck sorta way.

I thought the game overall was very sloppy. But you expect that in a game like this. How many times do we ever see a game get hyped up like this and actually live up to its billing? I know it had a nice finish, but it wasn't that entertaining of a game. I thought both teams played like crap.

Not to sound gay here........but god damn I miss Tyler Smith! Put him on any other team and he'd be scoring 20 PPG and dishing out 5 assists a game. I knew right away when he stepped foot on campus last year he was going to be a superstar. He's just about as good as any player in the country, even though his stats may not show it. He has incredible basketball IQ, athleticism, and his body control is unmatched by most. And on top of all of that, he's as clutch as they come. He is going to be a star in the NBA in the near future.
