MCLUB(!)(G)
M-
Regardless of our differences, whether they are w/ CFB, political, or whatever, I respect you for going to Africa.
I hate to admit this but I watched Idol w/ the wife tonight and really, honestly, the world needs people like you. I don't pretend to know everything about your trip but I do know you took that step. You went over there and you tried to help. And that's more than I can say about myself or my circle of friends.
Thanks.

Did you cry too while watching Idol? Did you send in money? Or is thanking m club your way of giving back?

What happened on Idol? Did someone sing a KRAFTWERK song, or somethin'?

Re: MCLUB
I'll echo that. One of our family friends has himself done many charitable missions, and now both of his sons are following in his footsteps. One of them went to Haiti, and had to quit because of some horrible shit. The peace corps usually ain't no party.

Re: MCLUB
Let me start by saying.... Captain MCLUB gets it!
I've been aware of his service to others for some time now. From his absence from the board to the pictures of his trip and time in Africa. I've always held a private admiration for the guy, since I've seen his service to others as a kind of "Mitzvah".
I'm sure MCLUB can back me up when saying that there is no greater reward than be of service to others. I've been putting in about 10 or more hours a week as a volunteer for about 20 something years now when I'm not on the road working or on vacation. It almost feels selfish.... what I get in return for my service to others. I've chosen to put my focus on service to the elderly, handicapped, mentally disabled as a way to "give back"..... and I say that loosely as I know for a fact I get much more back than I give.
Yesterday, I took an elderly man named "George Prince" who happens to be in a wheelchair and is around 90 years old to his church. He pulled out a couple of medals he received in the war in the pacific, and all I could think of.... was how lucky I was to be in this man's presence. That this man would give me the time of day and share his life with me. I honestly felt at that moment, that there was no other place in the world I would rather be than spending time with this gentleman. It was such a great feeling knowing that I was helping this guy and I was the one that was given the privilege to do so.
Anyways,
Huge thumbs up!!! From me to Captain MCLUB for his service.
It actually brings to mind a song about Sir Francis Drake and his service to the Queen of England.
About how some people are missing out on the greatest gift you can give to yourself and others... and actually make a difference in ones life as well as others.
Lyrics
"But no one heard them callin', no one came at all
'Cause they were too busy watchin' those old raindrops fall
As a storm was blowin' out on the peaceful sea
Seventy-three men and MCLUB sailed off to history
Ride, captain ride upon your mystery ship
Be amazed at the friends you have here on your trip
Ride captain ride upon your mystery ship
On your way to a world that others might have missed"
Ride Captain MCLUB Ride...

something that may be Interesting

"You know, gentlemen, when I was at
Cal and elsewhere I never once asked
any fellow student what their GPA or SAT
score was. Oh I may have been curious
but nonetheless I never asked. I also
never asked what a fellow student's
LSAT or MCAT was neither no how! However
I always ask if they were a "Michigan Man!"

heh. the guy in the red shirt says it all as if through translation reading right to left--boobies---->MClub----> guy in red shirt. no subtitles necessary. thumbs up. way up. he's kind of like the chorus in Greek drama. he talks directly to the audience about the "action" on stage. yeah, boy. thumbs up.M Club wrote:there wasn't script on my shirt until i looked at her boobies. she spoke oshiwambo and the people looking at my photos required subtitles.
