umich's dual-threet qb situation
hmm, no more slow 6'5" white dudes taking snaps at umich. the elvis grbac era is officially dead now that steve threat has used his third transfer as a way to decide next year's starter: nick sheridan or a freshman. so, a freshman starter. awesome.
Re: umich's dual-threet qb situation
Forcier got in early and at least from what I read, is coming along pretty well. This is probably going to be another rough year but hopefully there are fewer breakdowns on defense and the offense runs a lot smoother with fewer unforced turnovers. 2009 should be what we hoped 2008 was supposed to be.

5-6? BTW, did you watch the UNO-scU-M hockey game on Saturday? Wild as shit. Typical scU-M hockey early: completely out of control on the ice, compiling penatly after penalty by trying to even the score on the ice instead of on the scoreboard. Damn shame UNO had to blow that lead, would have been great to see scU-M piss a game down the toilet because they traditionally remain one of the nation's most undisciplined teams.Shoalzie wrote:2009 should be what we hoped 2008 was supposed to be.

What does a brother have to do to get to a hockey forum up in here?
Yes, I did watch the game on Saturday...tough game through two periods but they took over in the third. They lead the CCHA in third period goals...they had 4 on Friday and 2 on Saturday.

Threet sucked-big time (I know, Marcus). I'm hoping his transfer meant that he knew that Forcier and Robinson were competing for the 1 and 1a position. This also means that Sheridan can do what he came to UM to do....hold the clipboard, wear the hat, maybe run the scout team offense, drink some beers, and get some pussy. Starting at qb was never the plan.

sound to me like if Threet had stayed, you guys were setting up for the old John Blake 1998 3 QB offense.
Sooner lore is that Blake played 3 different QB's on the same drive/possession that season. i should probably type drive like this: "drive", needless to say. I'm just funnin'... :D I'm sure UM won't struggle through "Boo" like personnel/scheme yahtzee.
though i would be stunned if any non-OU fan could name 2 of those 3 qb's.

Re: umich's dual-threet qb situation
he didn't suck, per se. it's hard to keep perspective while going 3-9, but he was only a freshman playing in an offense ill-suited to whatever talents he has. i think he understood the writing was on the wall last year when sheridan started over him. speaking of sheridan, who did he blow for such good luck? he didn't come to michigan to hold a clipboard; he came to be an accountant. all of a sudden he's starting for michigan? granted, they sucked, but he had that good game against minnesota and started against ohio state. and if we ever get back to winning like we expect to then he'll be remembered fondly, as in: haha, that season sucked. i mean, NICK SHERIDAN!WolverineSteve wrote:Threet sucked-big time (I know, Marcus).
