Ray said the AU-UA game in Auburn would "never happen".

Also said bama would not be denied in the 4th quarter...just before the Lawyer Tillman reverse-for-TD game in '85.

Well, to be fair, this Tide team would beat the living crap out of the '92 team, or any Tide before '92. They only outweigh that '92 team by a good thirty lbs per man.

Compared to this team, the '92 squad was awfully small, slow and white.

So, maybe that's what Perkins meant. Maybe he meant it literally, as opposed to merely talking about how good a team is in their given era.

Kind of like saying X is the best tasting American light beer. It may be of importance if you are into that sort of thing, but to the outsiders it is still just pure swill.
