Child's hand caught in meat grinder at Meridian Twp. restaurant
MERIDIAN TWP. -- Police are investigating after a child was transported to the hospital after his hand reportedly got caught in a meat grinder at about 1:30 p.m. today.
Meridian Township police Lt. Greg Frenger confirmed a child was injured, but said he could not go into detail about the incident because it was a medical call. He said the department is looking into the matter.
Frenger said the incident occurred at a restaurant on West Grand River Avenue.
According to police dispatch, the child lost about a liter of blood after his hand was caught in a meat grinder. His hand was reportedly cut off to about the wrist.
