MADISON, Wis. -- A boost in state income tax collections has the Legislative Fiscal Bureau projecting an additional $636 million through the end of the next biennium in 2013.
The new projections find sales and corporate taxes will be weaker than previously expected, but the stronger income tax numbers will easily offset the declines.
"The updated tax projections from the nonpartisan Legislative Fiscal Bureau provide us with a real opportunity to balance our budget and help put Wisconsin's fiscal house back in order," said Rep. Scott Suder in a news release. "These numbers lend proof to what we've been saying all along, which is that we can grow our way out of this deficit instead of trying hopelessly to tax and spend our way to prosperity. It is important that we use this momentum to get our state back on track, not dig another hole by spending like crazy."
"Our responsible budgeting that raised revenue from the most wealthy, closed corporate tax loopholes and held the line on taxes for the poor and middle-class has paid off," said Rep. Mark Pocan. "Now, it is up to Republicans to be as responsible as Democrats were two years ago. Republicans have an opportunity to roll back Walker’s Draconian gutting of SeniorCare, replace some of Walker’s devastating cuts to public education and roll back Walker’s job-killing $250 million in cuts to the UW System."
The new estimates are based on a review of tax collections data and a new economic forecast, according to the LFB. The general fund tax revenues are expected to be higher than the previous estimate by $233 million in 2010-11, $204 million in 2011-12, and $199 million in 2012-13. That's a three-year increase of $636 million, or 1.6 percent more than the previous estimate.
Income tax estimates are expected to increase by $910 million over the three-year period, but sales and corporate tax projections are reduced by $240 million and $68 million, respectively, over that time.
Gov. Scott Walker has announced a news conference to discuss the economic news at 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

Well of course, goobs, it's what's been clearly asserted from day one of Walker's brazen assault on the public.
And it's actually the same on a national level as well.

Wis. Jumps In Best, Worst States For Business Rankings
Chief Executive Magazine Ranks Wis. No. 24
Updated: 4:36 pm CDT May 11, 2011
MADISON, Wis. -- Numbers released from Gov. Scott Walker and a improved ranking from a business magazine are optimistic signs for the state's economy, according to Walker's administration.
"In the first three months of the year we’ve seen the private sector create 24,000 jobs, including more than 11,000 manufacturing jobs," Walker said in a news release. "We’ve also been able to maintain our bond rating without tax increases by introducing a credit positive budget."
Wisconsin had the biggest gain in the Chief Executive Magazine rankings. Wisconsin jumped 17 spots to No. 24 in the rankings. This is the seventh year the magazine has ranked the nation's business climate in its Best/Worst States for Business rankings.
Business leaders graded the states on a variety of categories grouped under taxation and regulation, workforce quality and living environment.
Texas ranked No. 1 on the list. Neighboring states were led by Iowa, which ranked No. 22 on the list. Minnesota ranked No. 29, but the other two neighboring states didn't fare as well. Michigan climbed two spots to No. 46 on the list and Illinois dropped three spots to No. 48 on the list. Illinois has dropped 40 places over the past three years in the rankings.

Yeah, I'll wait til I hear about job numbers from someone other that "Chief Executive Magazine".
Walker's people have already had to backpedal from some of their pronouncements. Then there's this:

Walker's people have already had to backpedal from some of their pronouncements. Then there's this:
I love posting this stuff here and watching the neocons knee-jerk responses. Wanker's already alienated a significant chunk of the Republican base here.Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has pledged to create 250,000 new jobs in Wisconsin. He has an interesting way of going about it. Dan Bice of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that Walker visited Curt Manufacturing near Eau Claire, Wisconsin last week to award the state manufacturing plant a $625,000 transportation grant and congratulate himself for creating 125 extra jobs as a result. "This project directly creates 125 new jobs and indirectly creates 129 jobs, resulting in $12.6 million in annual wages right here in Wisconsin," Walker said in a news release. "By providing these funds, we are bringing quality jobs to Wisconsin while improving road access to Curt Manufacturing's expanded facility." But credit for the same 125 jobs was already claimed back in December by then-Governor Jim Doyle when the Department of Commerce announced the administration was giving the same company $400,000 in tax credits and $11 million in tax-free bonds under a 2009 stimulus program. Doyle said the extra money would "create 125 extra jobs and result in $12.8 million investment to the community." Could the firm be creating 250 new jobs? Er, no says a company spokesman. Curt has committed to adding 125 positions by 2014. So Walker simply ladled out an extra $625,000 for the same 125 jobs. That amounts to a whopping $96,000 in taxpayer support per job. Let's hope they pay more than minimum wage.

...regurgitated from your source and Madison's Bastion of Fairness, Goobs, same's your post. Can't help it if message doesn't rise to the level of "objectivity" that you've come to expect.
You dumbasses elected Walker to keep you Losers from going broke. Apparently, he's succeeded. Yet you bitch like a banshee with the menses. Ponderous.

No. What I posted was data from a government agency. What you posted was fantasy from a Tea Bagger cheerleading squad. Not in any way comparable. Channel 3000 is a government agency? Regardless...

Sober up and get back to me, chief.

...And both gleaned from Channel 3000. Oh snap: Here's the part where you're about to tell me that one source is more credible than the other.
Let's try this again, Slicknuts. Your initial post suggests that Wisky now has the cayshe to operate in the black.
Now: Who's your governor again?
Chief Executives get the credit... and the blame... for the economy. Walker pledged he'd get things fixed if elected. And you suggest the economy is now fixed. So apparently, Walker fixed your economy. Rack Walker. One can only conclude you posted your take to celebrate the efforts of your governor. Attaboy, Goobs. Only a matter of time before you'd come to your senses....

Re: Wait...we're not really broke?
You really are a fucking slack-jawed halfwit. Channel 3 reports on all kinds of stories. The one I posted had to do with data collected by a government agency tasked with projecting tax revenues. They’ve been doing it for quite a while and are reasonably good at it.
The numbers you posted were from what can only be classified as a highly partisan source. Pardon me if I wait for job numbers from the state’s Workforce Development division. Just within the past couple of weeks the Wanker administration has come out with a press release touting some data favorable to their cause only to have to backpedal within a day or two. When I get time, I’ll search out the story for you. It was quite amusing.
I never said the economy is fixed, you fucking liar. The economy, which went to hell under the Bush administration, may be bouncing back. But the state of Wisconsin was never in the dire straits that Wanker claimed. There’s obviously adequate revenue streams to justify restoring some of Wanker’s more odious budget cuts.
What’s telling if you are really paying attention to what’s going on in Wisconsin (as opposed to regurgitating some tard’s talking points) is that the Republican legislature is pushing hard to get their agenda rammed through in a hurry. Why? Because the recall efforts against several Republican state senators are gathering steam. It’s probably a decent bet that that the Democrats have a majority there by later this summer. Then the real fun begins.
Edit to add: I'm all about being honest. Here's the numbers from the state's Workforce Development department:

Yes, we are adding jobs but I doubt that you can credit these gains to Governor Wanker as much as to the recovery of the economy as a whole. And this does nothing to refute the original point that Wisconsin was never in the financial situation that Wanker said we were in.
This governor is all about the redistribution of wealth. From the lower and middle classes to the upper class. Even mvscal has recognized how disastrous this trend has been over the past 20 years. I just don’t understand why you blindly support these kinds of politicians.
