Any solution that makes a bunch of kids downloading copies of files in their own homes to be criminals is by definition going to fail.

I'd say about 2/3 of my old cassette collection (not including live shows) was material that was copped from albums my friends owned. Music sharing has been around since the 1970s, and the only impact it has had on the industry has been to increase market saturation/awareness of their product and to INCREASE overall sales.

JSC -- there's MUCH more sensible legislation proposed (OPEN Act) that doesn't put sites like T1B at risk of some music executive's whim.

PIPA and SOPA put privately owned DNS servers in the hands of the Justice Department (very China/Iran-like of them), where they have no business.
