Airsoft...anyone ever partake in such an event?

Post by Moby Dick »

saw an airsoft store in OKC the other day and wondered in (they had some sweet guns in the window).

come to find out there's an airsoft craze kind of like the paintball thing only tons less messy..tho more expensive.

I also found out there's a pretty good community around the OKC area (about 200 folks that show up pretty consistantly) at the range in Harrah...

i left with a GR 15 Raider. A decent little starter gun.

Real men play with real guns. Neighbors kids were into airsoft and shot the fucking pellets all over the place..nice mess..then they got a bit older and went to the real thing.

i played paintball once years ago. it was a fukking bast. haven't tried airsoft yet.

the only problem is it leaves no evidence. how do you confirm a hit in competitive events or is it all on the honor system?

I suppose. I just like to hear a bang and feel recoil and hear the cartridge eject. Nothing better than dumping a 30 round magazine as fast as you can pull the trigger.

Man did I miss out on a great idea. As kids we used to play "tag" with our bb guns. Just a safer way to do the same thing now.

A guy I used to work with said he and his friends did the same thing. They'd put on heavy sweatshirts, hats and goggles. Every now and then someone had to have a bb dug out of his faces, but, he said it was worth it.

We used to do that with the old Daisy Model 94 replicas..spring loaded so they did not hurt too much, and after a few thousand rounds the springs were wore out. Worked good until the rich kid from town showed up with one of them air pump sum bitches that would hurt like hell and raise a fuckin bruise on you.

We used to follow the tractor and plow out in the field and whack mice and gophers that got pulled up. Get done with that and would then belly crawl up to the edge of the pond and pick off them big fucking bull frogs. Good times for 9 to 12 year old boys.

Is that kind of action really fine in your neighborhood? These days people running around with assault weapns could raise an eyebrow at least. Our neighborhood has gone downhill over the last year and if I looked out my window and saw that it be pretty startling.

I'd have to say that would be about the least startling thing you would see if you looked out your window, Dan.
