Tubby can't remember that #1 and #2 both lost in consecutive weeks that year but he has instant recall of what flavor sauce he had on his chicken wings both weekends.

2002 and 2004, and 2007 (?) come to mind.

Definitely not 2004, since #1 USC ran the table that year. #2 OU did the same, at least until the title game. I don't think it happened in 2002 either, since that was the year a juggernaut Miami team ran the table as the defending national champs before losing in the title game to Ohio St.

2007 was the last time it happened. That was when the world was introduced to The Future of College Football, i.e., Always Give The Nod In Any Tiebreaker Situation To The SEC.
