Rumor mill working that UT AD
Patterson will be fired today.
If true that is good news for the UT programs.

Same, but no official word. ESPN and others only say sources are telling them, etc.

I laughed at the hire in the first place. Dude took the perennially-successful, every-game-a-sellout Trailblazers and managed them right into the ground... might as well give him a shot at doing the same in Texas.

I thought Strong did a very good job at Louisville.

You mean all the players Strong pulled out of Florida (like that one superstar QB, for example)?schmick wrote:Dinsdale wrote:I thought Strong did a very good job at Louisville.
Some coaches fit in at certain programs and not at others, success in one part of the country

If Schmick had his way, only Florida colleges could sign Florida high school players.Dinsdale wrote:

The reason Patterson isn't sitting in the AD chair tonight, isn't because of the hires. First off he raised ticket prices first thing, kicked some long time season ticket holders out of their seats, took away prime tailgating spots and then brought in a contractor to lease them back to donors, angered coaches already in the program, and told anyone who would listen that if they got rid of Brown, Saban would be a lock.
Texas should finish 6-6 again and Strong will be back in 2016.

Mostly agree on an established coach. Any new coach should be given a minimum of three seasons before he is judged. This is why you don't fire coaches unless you know for 100% certainty that you can hire someone better.

The cupboard is pretty fucking bare right about now. I don't put that on Strong. I will say that his benefit of the doubt is rapidly evaporating, though. I've seen too much confusion and disorganization on the sideline for my liking. He is going to have show something here this season or the new AD (Oliver Luck?) could very well be exploring other options.schmick wrote:A coach at Texas, that has never been close to as bare cupboard of blue chip players as USC was under He Whose Name We Shall Not Utter, has no excuse to not win 9 games by his second season.
