What did we learn from Texas vs OU

Post by Left Seater »

If anything?

OU was 10th coming in and Texas was a dumpster fire. OU got worked along both lines. Texas only threw the ball like 6 times. What happened to big game Bob? As bad as Texas has been over the last 8 years they have won 6 of the last 10 vs OU.

Does Texas get bowl eligible?

Does OU have 4 more losses this season?

Not much. It was a huge win no doubt and one that Strong needed badly. We were 1-4, season is over. This was the biggest game of the year for Texas. The takeaway is that they're a decent team when they aren't killing themselves with mental mistakes and that Jerrod Heard can play. Today: no turnovers, special teams actually made plays and just five penalties. That'll win.

That being said, this is the expected level of performance for a Texas team. If you can't get it up for OU, then you have no business in Austin. If you can't build momentum off of this win, then you have no business in Austin. There are four winnable game coming up. We'll see what they've got. They got horsewhipped last week and came back tough. I'll take that as a positive.

You never know if OU or Texas will win the annual game regardless of their records or whatever odds line is set. I would rather take my chances picking (guessing) other games.

Seriously. I don't disagree with a word of it.

Before the season started I figured losses to TCU and Baylor..then 1 we shouldn't lose.

After the game today I'm thinking 8-4 with possibly another bowl loss at the end of the year.
