Now that he can't run for office...

Obama can speak freely and not have to defend the words that leave his mouth.

At a speech in South Africa today he called for a Universal Basic Income.
“It’s not just money that a job provides,” Obama said in a portion of his speech devoted to economic policy. “It provides dignity and structure and a sense of place and a sense of purpose. So we’re gonna have to consider new ways of thinking about these problems, like a universal income.”
Wait, what? I get you just want to hand out more free money to people. But what is this about a job? Sure a job provides things beyond a wage, but your universal income, doesn't come with a job requirement. Remember that is racist. But how would we pay for this universal income? Just wait.

He then goes on to hint that there should be some sort of cap on income or wealth with the excess going to more taxes:
"I should add, by the way, right now I’m actually surprised by how much money I got, and let me tell you something: I don’t have half as much as most of these folks or a tenth or a hundredth. There’s only so much you can eat. There’s only so big a house you can have. There’s only so many nice trips you can take. I mean, it’s enough. You don’t have to take a vow of poverty just to say, “Well, let me help out and let a few of the other folks — let me look at that child out there who doesn’t have enough to eat or needs some school fees, let me help him out. I’ll pay a little more in taxes. It’s okay. I can afford it.” I mean, it shows a poverty of ambition to just want to take more and more and more, instead of saying, “Wow, I’ve got so much. Who can I help? How can I give more and more and more?” That’s ambition. That’s impact. That’s influence. What an amazing gift to be able to help people, not just yourself. Where was I? I ad-libbed. You get the point."
So he should pay more in taxes, he thinks. Well then why doesn't he do just that and send in more of his money than is required? If he has enough, great, give it away. He also calls making more money a poverty of ambition. What a freaking tool. This from a guy that has done zero in his life, but take other people's money. He has lived off of the Political system for his entire life. But he has enough money and no one should want or need more than what he has so taxes should increase and somehow we should cap your wealth.

At least he was honest and gave us his true colors when he said he ad-libbed and wandered.

I was chuckling about Maryland and them wanting to go to a "single payer" health insurance program. Then they crunched the numbers and found out how much it really costs. Ask Vermont too. Socialists love spending other's money, but don't you dare touch their life style. "Democratic Socialism" my ass. I still want to see Obama's college history. I'm certain he was listed as a foreign student and that is why it is being kept from us. Some day it will be revealed.

He still has major domeage residency in these parts.

It's called Ex-president Domeage.

Left Seater has a serious case of ED.

So a former President giving a speech in which he makes comments about handouts and taxes isn’t newsworthy in y’alls world. Ok so noted.

Since you don’t have comments on his speech we are left to think that you agree with him. This is out there for Goobs and Mikey, but not surprising for Screwy.

Totally laffable that you think this means he is in my dome. It was just covered lovingly on the national news.

I haven't had a chance to read Obama's speech yet. Hell, I still have to read all of ex-president Bush's speeches, too.

You need to join us in reality, brother. I'm worried that our fucking president is compromised by Russia and is performing treasonous behavior basically with ever waking breath and GOP lawmakers will do nothing to stop him.

Mikey,

You can keep running that take out, but it says more about you than it does me.

Screwy,

So the Russians hacked the election when the current President wasn’t in office. Yet it is the fault of the current President since the previous President was more to your liking? What with all of your hatred and disdain for the President multiplied by other media members, Hollywood elite, University folks, etc where is the smoking gun?

There is no doubt Don is a tool. But with the economy humming along and lower taxes, until you can prove he is/was breaking laws he is still the President, and that is what tends to resonate with Joe voter in Scranton. And remember even if he is guilty of certain things we now have precedent based on the previous Administration that people can keep their jobs despite “poor judgement.” Until you have an actual broken laws it just comes off as more whining.

You're the one who keeps bringing up Obama, who is now a private citizen, yet you keep making excuses for your low IQ hero who's doing his best to sell out the country to a two bit murdering dictator.

Says a lot about you.

Wrong and wrong.

I hardly ever bring up your hero. Today he makes a speech outlining crazy ideas and you are the one not addressing it and running away from it.

Meanwhile, I have called Don a tool on multiple occasions. Including in the thread you just quoted me on where I do call him a tool. That doesn’t mean the tax cuts, pulling us out of the Paris Accord, meeting with Kim Jung Dumb, ending the cozy relationship with Iran, Supreme Court nominees, etc are idiotic. They aren’t. Even if he is lucking into these decisions they were still good ones.

I get it you want to sit on the sidelines and not call out your party. You would rather say WGARA when they allow illegals to vote. You want to snipe at the immigration position of the GOP and the President but don’t want to offer up any suggestions to fix it. Nice double standard you have going in your mind there.

Your hero drastically slashed taxes while and jacked up defense spending while also driving up the cost of all consumer items due to his ridiculous tariffs. The stock market is basically running on a sugar high and the economy is due for a contraction, so talk up the economy all you want.

You are scared shitless of the Mueller probe, it is evident. And you should be, it's going to bring down your boy and his GOP enablers.

I have zero concern about the Mueller probe. It will reveal what it reveals. I will bet that whatever comes out will be swept away or talked down like the Hillary emails were. The Dems will push for impeachment, Republicans will circle the wagons to fight to the death and the losers will he us the people.

Meanwhile the tax cuts are a good thing. Spending including Defense should be cut immediately by 20% which I have said repeatedly. Sadly there isn’t anyone in Washington in either Party who cares about cutting spending in any real way. But again that has zero to do with the tax cuts, nominees, removal from the Paris accord, etc.

I had to laugh when I read that part when Obama talked about speaking the truth as a leader in light of his “if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor” bald faced lie to the American public to harness a sixth of the US economy in servitude to the federal government. It was the very definition of punching himself in the balls.

We have already been over this. I have noted this and will remind you of this when Trump is no longer in office and y’all are still obsessing over him.
