He kind of walked out like, "I'm Burt Reynolds. Here I AM."
Like that was supposed to carry him through.

Not impressed.

In Burt's later-life TV appearances he was generally bitter.
He rambled about being skrewed over by his wife's lawyers, carrying with him an undercurrent of anger that was palpable.
He came off as someone who was just too damn stupid.

Burt brought little to the table other than his macho looks.
A big yawn.

Reynolds just played Reynolds. I don't think he ever claimed he was a great actor.

And he was in a few good movies.
