not like there's anything to post about anyway...
That's because you don't have any AHL hockey.
Here's in Rochester, it's like nothing has changed.
You know, there are other hockey leagues out there. Seeing as the owners and the players both deserve to drown in their own shit, I'd start looking into them.

It's certainly better than that fuckin blue leaf...damm flag rip off.
BTW Why was it ever cool to name yourself after a growth on a tree? I know a "Duck" is lame but damm...a leaf?. I might get it if leaves prospered in the fall and then died in the spring.... :P

way ahead of you.
there's a CHL team in Loveland, CO (about 60 miles north of here) and they will be shown on a local cable network and I have been to one game. really a lot of fun and dirt cheap too!
However, there's still the huge void left by the NHL.

You must be a Senators fan. Two posts in and you already bitch and moan about Marsha eeeeerrrrrrrrr I mean the Leafs.
Among the hundreds that show up to Long Beach Ice Dogs games on the smurf ice. (Which requires you to sit in the upper deck if you want to see any of the lines clearly)

A funny thing we noticed in the program from the Stellheads game (ECHL) is that the Booster Club has drives to help players buy appliances, dishes, bedding, towels, etc. for their apartments. Poor guys make less than the people running the cencessions at Staples Center used to make.
I've gone to one Ice Puppies game so far this year. I really wish the games were more fun... I mean, I can actually walk to the arena. It would be totally awesome if I had even the SLIGHTEST desire to do so more than once a season.

I do have to admitt that it will be nice not to get beat by the Leafs this year...now saying that it is also true that the leafs have the same chance of winning the cup this year as any other....

Rack that!
Go Amerks!
Holy shit! Someone else from Rochester? Not too many of us Rochestarians floating around anymore.
It looks like the AHL North is going to be a dogfight this year. After the way the Amerks started, I figured they were toast. But they've come on like gangbusters. It's like somebody hit the on switch the day after Holoween.
