Flags are being half staffed for everygoddamthing these days. We had a state trooper killed on the other side of the state and it took me ten minutes of internet searching to figure out why flags were halfway down for a week. We half staffed when John McCain died. Fukken why? He wasn't my Senator. And now a former president gets a whole month? What if Liz Cheney dies during that month? Does she get a week at half staff AFTER the Carter month? How far out are we willing to stack these meaningless gestures? Just fly the thing halfassed permanently and come up with new reasons as needed.

The flag should stay at half mass until they’re officially done carving Jimmy’s headpiece into Mount Rushmore (with a neighboring space for Joe when he steps down in January).

Jimmy Carter exemplifies what happens when empathy and compassion are legislated into the veins of society. Under his watch (just like Joe’s), energy and grocery prices were at all-time lows (which really helped the poor and middle class), there were zero escalations in Afghanistan and above all, there were fewer racists and white supremacists doing racist and white supremacist things.

Jimmy will now be interred at his final habitat. If I were in a voting booth on 31st St (in the 14th district of NY) I would still vote for Jimmy for a second term (with a write-in on a post-it note for Joe).
