Why MLB needs instant replay and Joe Morgan is a dumbshit
I'm watching the Cards at Cubs and Derrick Lee hits an apparent foul ball that the 3rd base umpire rules a homerun. Larussa comes out to ask for another opinion, and the home plate umpire overrules the original call.
When I first saw it, it looked way foul. During slow mo replay, it was clear it stayed just inside the pole, right above that screen that sticks out.
Joe Morgan is saying that if it were fair, it would have dis-appeared behind the foul pole during the replay. Guess what Joe. It did, on both replays that were shown.
I've got $20 that says ESPN never shows that replay again.

it hooked in front of the pole.War Wagon wrote:No, it wasn't foul. The ball clearly hooked inside, and around, the pole.
Speaking of retards, how did I just know that you'd be the first to respond?
Don't you get tired of an idiot?? Noone but your dumbass, thinks the ball is fair after the replay!
and to insinuate that espn wouldnt replay the Call in question proves how big of a tard you are.
After third base umpire Mike Winters ruled it a fair ball, the left side of the Cardinals' infield and left fielder John Rodriguez protested and that prompted an argument from La Russa. The umpires huddled and overruled the call -- replays showed the ball clearly foul -- and that brought Cubs manager Dusty Baker out. After circling the bases, Lee had to return to the plate and flied out.
check.......................mate, now shut the fuck up

Wags, we don't need a discussion on the physical motion of a particular baseball to determine conclusively and without possibilty of parole, contradiction, retribution, institution, pollution, or cornnuts that Joe Morgan is a FUCKING BUFFOON.
He is the PRIMARY idiot in all of baseball broadcasting. Well, 'ceptin fer that sapsucker name o' McCarver.

Cardinalfan obviously saw things the way it would benefit them. If Pujols or Edmonds hit that ball we'd be hearing a different story. The ball dissapeared when it crossed the foul pole, and as Morgan was saying "see the ball never dissapears" in the replay, YES IT DID. Conclusion = HR.
As far as the argument about "well it ended up 3 feet foul", I don't suppose the trajectory or spin of the ball and the fact that it was the WINDY CITY had anything to do with that.
It was a HR, and Morgan is a tard.

Some blind mofo's around here, apparently.
I kept waiting for Morgan to swallow his tongue, or at least say..."wait a minute, upon further review, that was a fair ball".
But nope, that bad call just got ignored.
Whatever, I still call bullshit.

As a Cardinal fan, I saw the play, the replays that night, the replays on the news and the replays on spartscenter the next morning. Each time it was foul. Each time they showed it from behind home plate it was foul. Each time they showed it up close from the third base line it was foul.
I know someone from Kansas City might have their memory of a play distorted with time, so it would be best to agree with me and recognize my infinite wisdom.
