How far do they drop?
How far do they drop?
Not much in the way of Pats talk today. Brady played like Bledsoe and they took the L. Question is, how far does this drop them in eyes of everyone and will they use it as the motivation for 3 titles in a row?

Patriots played WAAAYYYY too sloppy today, like they expected the Panthers to lay down in front of their reputation and concede the win directly. If the shit continues as such as such next week vs the Steelers then the drop off will and should be considerable. It will certainly begin to tarnish the shine on coach Belichick's 'genius' and lend more credence toward the slide predicted by many after losing a good chunk of the supporting staff in the offseason. I will not proclaim the Patriots demise after one or even two losses, this is the NFL and it is very difficult to win them all - only one team has done it. I would like to see a better effort and more concentration by the Patriots. It is impossible to be very successful in the NFL if you can't win on the road.
Go Patriots! ! ! !
Shouldn't drop their respect all that much. Afterall, they did lose to what is arguably the best team in the NFC. I would expect New England to be able to better deal with the pressure that Carolina brought defensively but they and everyone should know that Carolina's front is probably the toughest to deal with throughout the course of a game. They do tire however and you can see it in their most physical games and I hope that changes. What was promising was seeing the Carolina secondary take it up a notch as you could see them improving from quarter to quarter and I am very excited about that.
Tom Brady just saw a lot more heat than he is used to but he is a monster and they will have an adjusted game plan if they meet again. What they really need to be concerned about is getting homefield. If they have to go into a Pittsburgh in January, they could be in trouble. The Panthers' fans were absolutely rocking that place today and were an added factor.
Motivation? I don't think a single game motivates this team at all at this point. The job does, the team name does and the coach does. They are as professional a bunch as we have seen in 10 years and eventhough the AFC is hyped as the clearly superior conference, there isn't all that much more standing in their way than there is Philly or Carolina's.
Long way to go, folks and NWE can shrug off a bad performance better than anybody.

Why do you have the Jets, Dolphins and Bills listed with teams that will contend for the Super Bowl? Is this welfare week at the bandwagon office?peter dragon wrote:What? you are a dumbassDumbass wrote:eventhough the AFC is hyped as the clearly superior conference, there isn't all that much more standing in their way than there is Philly or Carolina's.

Re: How far do they drop?
Well said. Brady had a terrible game and the Patriots didn't run the ball very well. The OLine played worse as the game went on. The only worry about the Patriots this year was the MLB position, but the defense seemed OK yesterday.Th wrote:Cueball wrote:Not much in the way of Pats talk today. Yea, I would be shaking in my boots if Carolina saw Kansas City, Miami, New York Jets, Cinci, Buffalo, Indianapolis and Jacksonville in the big one. Buffalo? Cinci, Miami, The fucking Jets? Yea, they would dominate a Super Bowl caliber D like Carolina and Philly.
What a dumbfuck. Bwahahaha.
There are only TWO teams in the AFC that have had enough sack to proclaim any type of superiority over the league. Get a clue before you open your pie hole again.
The Bills, BWAHAHAHAHA.
Yea, they waxed Tampa, ha? How did NY do in KC? You have two teams in there that got their asses kicked on the road and you think you have a point?

Here you go junior, I made a chart for you.
KC=STL
BUF=NYG
MIA=DAL
NYJ=SEA
CIN=NO
JAX=ATL
There's only one team in there that had a snowball's chance in hell at winning a title. Tell me why any of those AFC teams should qualify as a superior force to their NFC counterpart. Every one of these teams would be a surprise team if they make it to the Super Bowl with maybe the small exception of Atlanta. Home or away, I'll take my chances on CAR or PHI against any of those AFC teams.
