Michigan's run defense wore down in the fourth quarter and they made a few too many mistakes (Breaston's attempted kneel/short return, Martin's fumble, dropped passes). I thought Henne played well, Grady is making strides and Manningham is going to be an exciting player. That stop on the first series was huge for the Badgers. The Wolverines should've been winning that game going away by the way it was going in the first half. This was clearly a tale of two halves for each team.

It's a scary thought but I fear the Wolverines getting routed in East Lansing next week. This team doesn't stand a chance against Stanton and that offense which is clicking on all cylinders. This team is staring at a 2-3 record after next week. Spartan Stadium is going to be a mad house.

Carr should be fired. He hasn't done dick since 1997. That's going on ten years.

There is blood in the water and the spartan-helmet is looking like a shark's fin. It wouldn't surprise me if MSU takes them to the woodshed next Saturday.

With the way they are playing Carr could be real jeopardy this year, there is a solid possibility of a five-loss season. With the talent on-hand there is no excuse for five losses.

Not really Carr's fault. Michigan had their chances to win that game, and Henne couldn't hit his targets.

Next week won't be fun.

Can't remember the last time Michigan was the underdog going into this game but they have to be at least a 7-10 point 'dog. This would be sweet to ruin the Spartans nice little season they have going but it's pathetic that MichiganFan is resorted to thinking that and not focusing on their own on unbeaten season. I expect more out of this program...two losses for Michigan is not acceptable. This is a young team but they need an injection of passion and intensity. Their two losses were to less talented teams that played like they wanted it more. I think part of that is because of who is roaming their sidelines.

What a call by Alvarez on the QB draw at the end of the game to win it. That's the play that has broken Michigan's back lately. Not having Hart definitely had an effect, but I think Henne is starting to look like a sophomore. He's a solid QB, but I said it last season, Braylon Edwards made him look better than he was.

Actually, L45B, Edwards made that team (not just Henne), including Carr, look better last year.

This is pathetic. As Shoalzie posted, 2-loss seasons simply are not acceptable at Michigan given the "talent" they possess. And I pin it on Carr. Certainly, the players have to play the game and hit their plays. However, when the game plan is whack and the players are not prepared, then making plays goes out the window. I firmly believe that Michigan has been successful under Carr in spite of Carr. Michigan has benefitted from its high level of talent to the point that it even overcame Carr's ineptness.

Now Michigan only has 1 loss in the Big Ten and could salvage a split if it runs the table, however, that's unlikely. MSU appears to be the superior team (which is saying a lot) and I doubt that Michigan has what it takes to beat OSU this season.

I agree with T-Rex that Carr should be fired, but I have been saying that for four years now. Danimal is right on that if Michigan doesn't turn it around, Carr's position is in jeopardy. I see Michigan losing to both MSU and OSU as a given. That's four losses. And, unfortunately, as it's been shown, is not enough to get Carr handed his ass.

It's time for a change in Ann Arbor, too bad Michigan doesn't have the guts to do it.

I was in Milwaukee on Saturday, and was also at that Brewers game. When they announced the final score, the place was louder than it was when the Brewers hit 2 home runs in one inning. And they showed Henne falling down on that play in the 4th qtr on the video screen. It was indeed classic.

If Michigan does lose 4+ games this year, then Carr absolutely HAS to get at least one win vs his two remaining rivals (MSU and OSU) to keep any cred whatsoever in this current era. Losing to ND, MSU and OSU in the same year is the worst thing that could possibly happen in AA.

Oh, God, Logan...lets hope that is not the case. Someone else mentioned it last week, and I agree wholeheartedly with it...the next coach has to represent a clean break with the Bo era. Bo liked to run the ball and each successive coach has stcuk with that philosophy. That's a good philosphy and all, but it only works when you have both the talent to block and run the ball and devise a game plan. Carr has had the talent, but he simply does not have the plays to do it. How many running plays are in the Carr playbook? I swear that by the middle of the second quarter we've seen them all. I bet there's about 8, 16 if you count the mirroring. There's just nothing there.

The next hire has to be a clean break, period.

what's the matter with Lloyd Cooper?

Michigan fan welcome to tOSU fans nightmare of the 90's...tons of talent, but would either lose a game they shouldn't (MSU 98), or not beat their rival...hence Carr's 1-3 record against tOSU...

Carr has had talent no fucking doubt about that...I mean look at all the skill players...Edwards, A-Train, Henson, Terrell, etc, etc, etc, the list FUCKING goes on...sadly it appears Lloyd has become a meld of Mack and Cooper...it is unfortunate because like Cooper and Mack he can FUCKING recruit and get talent...but getting that talent takes a coach to get that talent to play like a team...I think Mack finally figured it out this year...while Cooper never really did...

not that I would shed a tear for Carr...since it was Marcus Ray who said in 94 that they wanted to beat tOSU so Cooper would get fired...I hope that tOSU butcher rapes UM so that perhaps UM gets someone in there to restore the lost lustre...kind of like what tOSU did with Tressel...

1-3 versus OSU?

How about 6-4. You could have at least qualified your statement to include 1-3 in the last four years.

Now, that, in no way, compares to the absolute sucktitude of Cooper.

whoops good catch Doc...was in a hurry...

yes you would be correct...I meant 1-3 since the sweater vested warrior took over...

you are also correct in that it does not compare to cooper's ineptness in THE GAME, but 1-3 does not look good no matter what you spin it...

also to be 5-1 until Tressel arrived is awesome...Stoopslike...then to go in the tank...I just can't believe it...

you guys had superior talent in 01, and some would say last year...

Michigan definitely shoud have won last year as they should have won the Rose Bowl. But, in each case, Carr lost the game for them, especially the Texas game. I just don't understand how you do not plan for Vince Young. Michigan literally had nothing to stop the guy, despite everyone declaring that Michigan's defense was so fast and strong.

1-3, I hope doesn't turn into 1-4, though there is a piece of me that almost would like to see Michigan lose to OSU if that would mean Carr being canned.

While we're on the topic of Cooper, I always got a chuckle when ABC would zoom in on Michigan's sideline before kickoff and you could see Lloyd Carr grinning from ear to ear.

Funny how quickly things change.

Michigan also has Minnesota still ahead. Granted, Michigan hasn't lost the Little Brown Jug game in just about forever, but perhaps this could be the year. Minnesota usually gets some hype by beating up on a vastly inferior OOC schedule, but that didn't happen this year, and then they looked pretty impressive against Purdue. Laurence Maroney might just be a dark-horse Heisman candidate.

So if Michigan were to lose to Minnesota, Michigan State and Ohio State, that would be 5 losses. Would that be enough?

As for this weekend's game, not to give Babs any love but everything from a factual standpoint tells you this is Michigan State's game to lose. But by the same standpoint, just when you think they have something going is precisely the time, historically, that Michigan State begins to implode. They have a massive inferiority complex vis-a-vis Michigan, and you might see Michigan playing (and Carr coaching) with an urgency you haven't seen yet this year, given the two early losses out of the gate.

My head tells me Michigan State. But my gut tells me Michigan, in an upset. The latter, of course, depends on which Chad Henne decides to show up.

I don't seem them making any changes. Who would you like to coach?

Obviously the visiting sentiment is to leave the Bo era (which Michigan won't do)

Who is available? The up and coming studs all got picked up by big programs last year. You can't fire Lloyd without bringing in some one important.

I actually don't think Harbaugh is a bad idea...but he might be too 'bo-like"

I say give him one more year...see what happens when these kids are juniors.

After the second inning of the Brewer game it was already over.

Me and the girlfriend placed $10 on the game just to make it more fun...she let me have the Cards -1.5.

I was buying her food and beer after that second inning.
