Clemens is not a big game pitcher

Post by Jack »

I must admit, I was rooting for Clemens to be NAILS last night. Just for the whole story of it all.

But reality set in..

Roger Clemens is a great pitcher but he is only fair when the pressure is on. He has pitched SOME good games in the Post Season but overall... in the Post Season, he's not an ACE!!

SMOLTZ is an ACE!!

See the chart below..

MOST Post Season Wins

Pitcher........... Wins Losses
John Smoltz...... 15 .....4
Andy Pettitte.... 14 .....8
Tom Glavine..... 12 ...15
Greg Maddux... 11 ...14
David Wells...... 10..... 4
Dave Stewart... 10 ......6
Roger Clemens .10..... 8
Whitey Ford...... 10..... 8

Roger Clemens, who had a 1.87 ERA this season, allowed five runs in five innings.

I'd say he's a 43 year old man who runs out of gas by October.

He hasn't been 43 years old every season.
