The testimony from everyone involved is that they did NOT communicate to Ukrainian officials that there was a requirement that Ukraine publicly announce the initiation of a corruption investigation of Joe and Hunter Biden as a precondition to obtaining U.S. financial aid for military purchases and a meeting with the President. Every witness said that it would be improper to do that, and that they would not and did not do it. The evidence shows that Ukraine had no fucking clue that the aid was suspended until September 5, 2019. How can you have a quid pro quo if the party being leveraged in that manner has no fucking clue that the aid is being held up? And the aid hold was lifted on September 11, 2019, despite Ukraine NOT having publicly announced any investigations of the obviously corrupt Bidens. Yes, many witnesses have testified that they presumed or assumed that the President must have intended for there to be a quid pro quo. They made their determinations based on whispers and innuendo flowing in the State Department and other executive branch agencies, which are filled with anti-Trumpers. But none of them spoke with or heard anything from the President that would substantiate their beliefs in the rumors. No one testified that Trump said these things. The only one who did speak to Trump on the matter, being Ambassador Sondland, was told by the President that there was no quid pro quo, and that all he wanted was for the Ukrainian president to do the right thing and follow through with the things he said during his campaign, one of which was to root out corruption in Ukraine. That would include an investigation of Burisma, which was shoveling millions of dollars to Biden's cocaine-addled and completely unqualified son during a time when Biden's father was in charge of U.S. policy to Ukraine. Federal prosecutors from the Southern District of New York, or SDNY, contended that the Trump Organization had improperly booked reimbursements for the hush-money scheme as “legal expenses,” with the aid of sham invoices. They granted legal immunity to Weisselberg and later closed their 18-month investigation with the guilty plea of one Trump associate, Michael Cohen. But Weisselberg’s immunity deal applied only to federal proceedings.

Now Vance’s state grand jury is examining whether Weisselberg, among others — and even the Trump Organization — should face state criminal charges for falsification of business records, according to a source familiar with the investigation. All I have heard so far is that there is no evidence that there was corruption.
