Alcaraz wins as expected. Four sets.

But Medvedev pulls off the *UPSET*.

Medvedev and Sinner have such an interesting history.
Medvedev beat Sinner the first 6 times they played -- all on hard courts.
Sinner beat Medvedev the next 5 times they played -- all on hard courts.
Then at Wimbldon, in their 12th meeting, and their first meeting on a surface other than a hard court, Medvedev prevails in 5 sets.

Props to "The Octopus."

He'll have an interesting semifinal battle with Alcaraz.
This is the best Medvedev has ever looked at Wimbledon. Remember, he lost to Chris Eubanks last year. He’s always seemed uncomfortable on the grass but he brought his A game Tuesday versus Sinner.

Alcaraz has looked a bit spazzy this tournament, Medvedev could take him down. I see it going five sets.

Regarding the only remaining American Taylor Fritz, I’ve got advice for the guy starting now. If he wants to be a top five player, he needs to ditch the narc girlfriend. Her drama after arguably his best win at a major yesterday is enough to derail his preparation completely. He needs to clear his head and show her the door. Tommy Paul has a similar issue, picked a narc who wants to pose alone with his trophies. These chicks are vampires and career killers.

Medvedev has a bigger serve than Alcaraz, and he is also a little more at ease moving in to the net than Alcaraz is.
As you note, Medvedev is looking very comfortable and confident.
I think he has a better than 50/50 shot at beating Carlitos.
I will probably pick Daniil to win.

I could identity Frtiz' girlfriend as a distraction a pretty long time ago.
Imo, she loves the lifestyle of traveling the world with a top tennis pro more than she actually loves Taylor.

Back in the day, I remember reading one time about how in their early days on the tour, Edberg and Wilander both swore off women.
They noticed other players getting in deep with women, and losing focus.

If you go to Google and type in, for example, Sinner vs. Medvedev head to head, you will see (probably the first entry) ATP Tour head to head Sinner vs. Medvedev.

Bingo

When I think of the Big 3, all three of the wives are the fully supportive, non attention seeking type spouses, at least in public. Even Sampras’ wife was an actress but never did we get the impression that she was trying to outdo her husband or ride his coattails.

Bat— it’s hilarious you bring up Wilander and Edberg and women. Apparently Wilander briefly dated Annette Olsen before Edberg did, whom he eventually married. Nonetheless don’t remember any female drama from those guys. Agassi and Brooke Shields caused a lot of buzz but at least she didn’t feel the need to hoist his US Open trophy.

Again, both Fritz and Paul could really help their careers by dumping these self-centered, toxic bloodsucker women.

Djoker moves freely into the semis, as De Minaur is too gimpy too play.

Very disappointing for De Minaur to get to the quarters of Wimbledon and not be able to perform.

Total choke. He needs to fire the girlfriend. He spent entirely too much time cleaning up her antics after the Zverev win, when he could have been resting his mind for today’s match.

Really? What happened?

Musetti's slice, especially in the fifth set, was incredible. Thing was like a frickin' laser.

I don't think Musetti is really an excellent grass court player.
He is better on clay or on a hard court, imo.

Taylor Fritz has some holes in his game, and his little lady isn't helping either.

Getting a little technical, but Fritz does not get a good grip change with his right hand on his two-handed backhand.
So, he often gets caught "shoveling" the ball on his backhand, and he doesn't hit the backhand down the line well.

He is also not real natural at the net, and especially for someone of his size.
His volleys are average and his overhead is average, for his size.

He can bang his serve pretty good, and he can belt the forehand, but his movement is somewhat stiff.

Taylor Fritz isn't a well rounded player, and that is why he has never been beyond the quarterfinals at any major.
He'll be 27 in October.
There are always younger, hungrier players coming up.
His window will be closing in the not too distant future, and his little girlie will have to find a new sucker to latch on to.

Her window will be closing in the not too distant future, also -- as the looks don't stay hot forever.
She better do some scouting for a new chump.

Vekic almost pulled it out vs. stumpy. I like Paolini's charisma but a big hitter with more stamina in the final could be too steep.

Eh. Evert was saying during the broadcast that Rybakina would have been the tougher opponent for Paolini because of her big serve and her power. No one's stopping Paolini. She'll win Saturday.

As expected, Djoker won in straight sets.
However, Medvedev wilted under Carlitos' steady barrage of bombs.
Daniil took the first set, but couldn't keep pace after that.

Arguably the current top two stars in men's tennis will face off in the finals of Wimbledon.
Good stuff!

Alcaraz vs. Djokovic in the final.

A rematch of last year's final, where Carlitoz took it 6-4 in the fifth set.

NoVax has a knee that is slightly (I guess) gimpy, and when watching him, I can notice that there are times when he does not move with his normal agility.
He is a year older.

I like Alcaraz here to win his 2nd straight Wimbledon title.
Five sets.

Djoker is such a warrior, and I respect his accomplishments so much.
People thought Borg was a tennis god back in the day, when he won 5 straight Wimbledons.

Djoker is now in his 10th final -- and he has won 7.

Crazy.

Unfair comparison.
Apples to oranges.
Borg retired at 26

If you want to compare them, ask yourself if Joker had 11 slams by age 26.

That would be apples to apples.

Master class from Carlitos.
Rolled in straight sets.

He is an ascending player who has not yet reached his peak.
Serve is improved over last year, and his movement and court coverage is better than anyone on tour.
He is mentally strong, and he keeps a rocket forehand in his back pocket that he breaks loose once in a while.

NoVax was not 100% physically.
His draw was favorable in this event, and it helped him reach the final.
He wasn't going to beat Carlos Alcaraz today.

Alcaraz is the top player in the world right now.

This match was the result of "age"

37 in tennis is like 57.

If the ages were reversed, Joker wins 6-1. 6-0.
