2024 Three Best Bets - Super Bowl
Hit me up if you see that I have made an error(s) fans.
I will get it corrected ASAP.
Biggie is very antsy, and I can see that he wants to *pop* the cork on his champagne.
There are still 12 days until the Super Bowl.
HPG has done a nice job in the 2nd half of the season.
A few other participants have fallen off some.
I guess that's just the way things roll.
Donnie B. and Kluba will move to the *bottom* of the standings after the Super Bowl.
You must get 44 picks IN to be eligible for the title, and it's not fair to have part-timers finish ahead of players who got their 44 picks IN this season.
Get 'em IN next year, fellas.
You're both capable of very good stuff.
Good luck with your Super Bowl selections!

Re: 2024 Three Best Bets - Super Bowl
Kudos to Pops and Screwy for running this thing. Since I am doing so damn well, I decided to do a little analysis of how things might go for the big game.
First of all, can we make two picks for the big game, one for a team and another for the over/under?
This shows results if Biggie loses one or two of his picks and Mike and/or T3 win one or two. You can figure if Biggie goes one for one, or just makes one pick, but the bottom line is we still have a horse race.
Biggie
Win Lose Total Percent
34 22 56 0.6071 current standing
34 23 57 0.5965
34 24 58 0.5862
Mike D.
Win Lose Total Percent
38 26 64 0.5938 current standing
39 26 65 0.6000
40 26 66 0.6061
Troll#3
Win Lose Total Percent
35 24 59 0.5932 current standing
36 24 60 0.6000
37 24 61 0.6066
I used excel for the math so it's probably correct. Good times.

Thanks. I used the same approach to analytics in the second half, but picked the exact opposite.Softball Bat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 2:37 am HPG has done a nice job in the 2nd half of the season.

Roger Goodell Brushes Off Concerns About Biased Officiating
NEW ORLEANS, LA — As festivities ramped up in preparation for Super Bowl LIX this Sunday, National Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell brushed off any concerns about biased officiating.
While allegations from fans and media that the Kansas City Chiefs regularly benefitted from referees turning games in their favor persisted throughout the season, Goodell adamantly refused to give them any credence.
"These accusations regarding our officials are preposterous and without merit," he said while decked out in Chiefs gear. "Our officials take great pride in their jobs and take the integrity of the game seriously. Our fans can rest assured that this Sunday's game, like every NFL game, will be called right down the middle. It will be a fair game to determine a winner, whether that ends up being the Chiefs or the Chiefs."
Despite wearing a Patrick Mahomes #15 jersey and Chiefs cap instead of his traditional tailored suit, Goodell maintained that the NFL would never show preferential treatment to any one team over another. "It's ridiculous," he said. "Beyond the fact that they never lose, always seem to have penalties against their opponents at the most crucial moments, and the established mandate that Patrick Mahomes not be touched, there is no evidence that the NFL is biased toward the Chiefs."
Goodell then excused himself to attend a private lunch at the invitation of Taylor Swift.
At publishing time, the NFL had told the Philadelphia Eagles not to pay any attention to "Kansas City Chiefs" already being engraved on the Lombardi Trophy.

I must be missing something.
You can pick KC or Phil, and you can pick over or under.
What is the third possible bet? Coin toss?

Re: 2024 Three Best Bets - Super Bowl
The operative word is can.
A person can make 3 picks this week.
Three Best Bets.
But as you recognize, a 3rd pick cannot help a person at all.
