Re: Trump/GOP bullshit
Confusing a definition with causation isn't helpful. Just the word 'inflation' gives you an intuitive definition. The idea that it's the money supply was falsified in Britain in the 1980's, that was a failed experiment.
Re: Trump/GOP bullshit
The effects of the Minimum Wage Tariff in my home state of NY have caused the prices of double smashburgers to uhhh… double.
Nonetheless, that’s not technically inflation because at least my extra dollars are raising awareness (and wages!!) for all low-income employees. Virtuous behavior positively influenced by the government is progressive and thus anti-inflation.

Indeed it does. To have the outrage of the day to be merely a tan suit or a misstep while climbing stairs, instead of criminal conduct, gross incompetence, and wilful misconduct --- yeah, the good old days certainly look very good in comparison to the current dumpster fire.

I’m sure it will get straightened out soon.
This is all the fault of the previous administration. None of this would be necessary if the idiot Biden had done his job properly and kept the border secure.

Yes, it is the prior Administration that has arrested him and is deporting him. Really.

Maybe if Trump admin can eliminate the waste, fraud, and abuse in Medicaid/Medicare, I might summon a bit more tolerance for the Walmart crowd in here.

I am not a fan of this bill based on its reported failure to reign in spending. I admit that I have not read it. But I'm curious how you are able to draw conclusions about what it contains without reading it. Do you automatically believe that everything published by the Atlantic is accurate? I note that the article does not explain how the quoted statement can be true. It just says it. What are the cuts to food assistance and health insurance for low-income Americans? And how are the tax cuts for affluent Americans larger than the tax cuts for those who are non-affluent (whatever that means)? The “Big, Beautiful Bill” would pair huge cuts to food assistance and health insurance for low-income Americans with even larger tax cuts for affluent ones.

If Biden hadn’t attempted to destroy the country by allowing rampant illegal immigration there would be no need for these ICE actions. Clearly this can all be blamed on his administration’s idiotic and dangerous policies .

Interesting interpretation Raeioux! When you read the words “tax cuts,” do you assume the Unit of Measure as a Rate (ie a percentage %) or as Dollars (“$”)??
I always interpret a tax cut as flat dollars being donated to super rich people who don’t need it, and taken away from those who really do need it!! Tax cuts for the rich!! Disgusting animals!!

I’d read what you post. And either agree or disagree.
But I’ve already read material that clearly disputes the hysterics the Dems are spewing. They seem to count on folks buying their statements and not reading the bill(s). Reading the details is tedious and most won’t do it.

Re Medicaid provisions in the bill:
1. The work requirements that the bill is trying to implement would only apply to young able-bodied adults who have no children. 40% of Medicaid expansion recipients are 19–34, and childless.
2. The work requirement is only for 80 hours of work per month. Please read that again if you are young and able-bodied and you refuse to go to work for 80 hours a month, then I shouldn’t have to subsidize your freaking healthcare. Sorry, not sorry.
3. 1.4 million illegals will be kicked off the program. That is currently how many illegals are not able to provide proof of citizenship and are still enrolled in this program that we know of.
4. No more money to planned parenthood. Again, don’t force the public to pay for your abortion or your transgender cross hormone therapy drugs.
5. There is a requirement for updated information to be provided twice a year so they can make sure you still qualify and don’t just collect Medicaid. And because of just that simple little task the CBO predicts that it’s possible that 7.7 million people will lose their coverage. Well then, why don’t you just have them learn some goddamn responsibility and send in the paperwork.
6. CBO (which is a disgrace now that I understand how they actually come up with numbers) predicts that 7.6M-13.7M people will lose their insurance by 2034.
That includes 7.7 million people who refuse to fill out the paperwork to verify eligibility and retain benefits.
1.4 million illegals.
2.8M to 3.2M young able-bodied CHILDLESS workers who won’t be able to meet the 80 hour per month work requirement.
There is not one person who can look at those set of facts and have a problem with the portions of this bill that create work requirements, eligibility verification, and the removal of illegal aliens from the Medicaid benefits.

Just on SNAP alone, the impact on Louisiana is more than $300M/year in state general fund dollars.
Alabama has a larger population, and my guess is that Alabama will experience a similar fiscal impact.
There is not a state in the country that is prepared for such an impact.
Translation: higher taxes or the state dropping SNAP.
Elections have consequences, enjoy.
Again, this is just from SNAP. There is more to enjoy in the bill.
