Lou had long since left Arkansas when it went to the SEC.Believe the Heupel wrote:Lou Holtz couldn't beat anyone in the SEC?
Didn't he run a pretty successful Arkansas program in the SEC? Or was that before they moved from the SWC?

Maybe they should have scheduled some teams that weren't directional schools or DIAA, Danimal.Danimal wrote:Dude has a right to be pissed, his team went undefeated in the SEC and got NOTHING. Right now it looks like the same could easily happen to VT, GA, or Bama and he is making his feelings known. Somehow I doubt USC fans would consider it whining if the shoe was on the other foot.

A lot of people disagree with you. Does that make you a bad person? Does that mean you should be ridiculed or insulted? No. It's called a DIFFERENT opinion. Notice how everyone else handled themselves?Jimmy Medalions wrote:Nobody likes a whiner. This kind of public outcry by him will come back to haunt him.
True"It's done," Tuberville said. "The national media, led by ESPN, wants to see Vince Young vs. Matt Leinart in the championship game. It's going to be those two teams unless Texas or USC get upset.
True"Last year, they wanted to see the two Heisman Trophy quarterbacks, Jason White and Leinart. After six or seven games, we were out of it.
True"If four teams are undefeated at the end of the season, there should be a playoff. There should've been one last year. But it's decided already. I don't like it."
True"ESPN has gotten so much power lately, it's kinda scary," Tuberville said. "And most of their analysts are coaches who haven't won any games. That's why they're there. I think you know who I'm talking about.
"And Lou Holtz gets on there and talks about what a team has to do win that game, and the guy couldn't beat anybody in our conference. These guys will come talk to you and look you straight in the eye and tell you something, then they'll get on the air and say something else.
"ESPN, I'll tell you, I don't have much to do with them anymore."
True"I guess he was kicking out his frustrations," Tuberville said, referring to Vaughn's five missed field-goal attempts Saturday night. "He's sick about it. He's a good kicker. He just had one of those nights. We all have them. And you'll never hear or read about this, but the wind on that field was swirling. It was a guessing game as to where to kick the ball. But he'll recover."

Bad example. OSU started 2002 ranked 12th and they still made it to the Fiesta Bowl. Not exactly the same as a current-season Texas or USC, who both were in the Top 5 before a game was even played.Jimmy Medalions wrote:What Tubby is complaining about filters all the way back to that overrated tOSU team (sup buckeye_in_sc) from a few years ago. How many games did they win by 5 or less?
By virtue of their early preaseason ranking, their winning streak kept them in play all the way to a BCS title game.

Two seasons? Revisionist history, much? You might have that argument for one season and only with some trojan fans. I won't even say nice try, because it wasn't.Spinach Genie wrote:Funny to hear a trojan fan mock that since for two seasons straight they were crying the same sad song.
Still bitter. For shame.the Trojans don't even really look top 2 in my opinion.

Two. After the '02 season, several Trojan fans and Cali pubs were bitching USC could beat any of the championship contenders and '03 was one of the biggest cryfests the BCS system has yet seen.Jimmy Medalions wrote: Two seasons? Two games. Notre Dame. Overrated, and you still needed last minute heroics to pull that one out. A late pull away against an average ASU squad would be the only other real quality win USC has as far as I can tell...except maybe the mighty ducks. :roll:Still bitter. For shame.
This just about sums it all up.as far as I can tell
