opening rar files

I know I can use winrar, but that would cost money. I was wondering if anyone knew of a free program that would do the same thing.

The mother of all compressed file tools:

IZarc

Even got it installed in Linux, running through WINE.

I've been happy with 7zip for a while. Thanks for the link to IZarc, I'll give that a try.

I've used Winrar for years and haven't paid a dime. After 30 days a popup screen comes up after launch, but all you have to do is close the screen.

That being said, I just installed IZArc. I like the looks for it so far.

If you want to avoid that, right-click the file, and "extract to" - that goes for any of these programs.

I've used 7Zip with good luck in the past. The user interface could have been slightly better designed, but then again, I haven't used the last few newer versions.
