Very funny book. Even my parish priest liked it.
THE BIBLE - Because all the works of all the science cannot equal the wisdom of cattle-sacrificing primitives who thought every animal species in the world lived within walking distance of Noah's house.

Having read the book (and its historically fast-and-loose "nonfiction" predecessors Holy Blood, Holy Grail and The Messianic Legacy) and being a churchgoing Christian, it is my opinion that if you get all hot-and-bothered and deeply offended regarding Brown's book or the movie...

...you're a frigging moron.

But, at least we're unlikely to see mass rioting and destruction as per the Muslim "Mohammed cartoon" idiocy.
Being a direct descendant of Jesus Christ, I'm not too happy that they let the cat out of the bag, so to speak.

but as my Great Great Great (many times Great Grandfather) used to say,

“What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul.” and my personal favorite...“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

PEACE!

how ironic that Salman Rushdie gets death threats from a book critical of Islam, and Dan Brown gets a movie starring Tom Hanks from book critical of Christianity.

Christ blessed this earth with God's forgiving grace.
RACK True Christianity and huge props to all who practice forgiveness.

Cool Bible Code:
When you read 1Jo 3:14 backwards, it say's, 'Paul is dead.

What? Nancy Reagan wasn't available?

I agree. So he was dead the whole time and it was all just a dream?

And then Jesus wakes up in bed next to Suzanne Pleshette?

Lame.

Read the book, liked it. Can't wait to see the movie, because I love Tom Hanks.

More Important Issues:

--Find some non-pedophiliac candidates for the all-but disappearing priest minor leagues;

--Continue attacks on birth control;

--Somehow continue promoting the current "rottweillor of the Vatican" Pope as the LITERAL spokesman for God (the ancient Hebrew tribal "Jehovah" for those keeping score);

The DaVinci Code is excellent. A solid page turner with a fine message that people need to hear, feel, and think about.
